  • i dont mean shout out as in stand and shout out, i mean complain, as to queue as we are polite?? whats polite about a queue didnt see many polite brits at the airport i was stuck at for 48 hours theres more like me than you think ,dont see many polite brits in sainsbury xmas week , and so on why as a country do we like to queue??.
I know a woman who teaches at a local college she will not queue she just walks to the front if the queue if its more than 3 and states she has to much work to do to be hanging around chit chatting in queues done it in our local town for as long as i know and yes ive seen her get the odd insult but it bothers her not one jott, as for the shop worker who suggests violence well cant be having that its against the law and he would end up with a record and scrounging on benefits.
Ask for uk dimtim you havent met many people then??

I was actually working on the till the other day at a shop - there was a queue forming and I was the only person on the tills, the tills were taking a while to respond so it only took a few dodgy customers (i.e like to pay £100 in coins) to cause a massive queue.

Then suddenly the customers start getting annoyed with me (!!!!!! am I meant to do - i'm working as fast as I can) and saying I should walk off and find someone else to help (errr - thats gonna really solve the queue).

If I ever got "THE LONE RANGER" as a customer frankly i'd just refuse to serve him...

  • so you are working in a store which is short staffed why is that the customers fault , its yours your working for the company and clearly will not do anything to solve it such as complain to head office or go and get some one to help.you wouldnt serve me becouse if the queue was to big i would leave i dont do queues.

Did I say it was the customers fault?

    No.

I was saying that customers like to !!!!! and moan.

Yes it was short staffed - 3 staff were sick. Did the customers care? No.

How exactly does walking away from a queue help? Customer "x" who suggests it will be happier but every other customer will complain because i've walked away!

  • lone ranger -whats happened to respect for others... shop workers work very hard and deserve to be treated well.think you very rude little man.

  • Lone Ranger, please remove your head from your bottom.

Shouting at the staff or management to "get more staff" or whatever or "put someone on another till" will cause neither of those things to happen. What will happen is people will mutter the word "!!!!!" under their breath and ignore you.

The person on the checkout can't pull other people out of their backside to help you (if you can, then that's a great party trick, but as we've already ascertained you need to pull yourself out of there first). The person cashiering at the bank is probably stressed enough as it is without having some loon bellow at him/her over something he can't control, and trust me it only takes one business paying in a lot of coin, notes and cheques (as happens often) and the whole thing goes out the window.

It's not the customer's fault, but it's also not the fault of any of the people there, who are most likely not responsible for hiring and firing. It's a bank/supermarket/whatever, people QUEUE. It's what happens when lots of people want the same service at the same time, they stand in a line and wait to be served. It happens. Deal with it.

(You're also simply not important enough to be listened to. I imagine you're something of a retired colonel, someone who writes in letters of complaint to the BBC if someone is showing more cleavage than you think they ought to before the watershed, or uses celsius rather than fahrenheit in the weather, before going out and shouting at random people in case of the slightest inconvenience. That's the impression I get, anyway.)
  • Also, how would you like it if you were made to work through your break for no other reason than some whinging sh*tsack was unhappy they had to wait 5 minutes to buy something? Let's not even get into that whole "legal requirement for breaks" dealie.

Dammit this thread has made me angry that there are such cretins in this country.

EDIT: Having now read all of the b*llocks TLR has written in this thread, I've come to the conclusion that he's actually transcended his physical form and become a glowing, white hot ball of pure Daily Mail-readerishness.

Ok we all do as Mr Ranger would like.

We won't queue, we will all push to the front and demand to be served first.

In fact why stop there? Avoid the queue at the tills completely, just walk out without paying.

When in supermarkets just throw other peoples food off the belt onto the floor, after all they can't be as important as you, can they?

Or alternatively Mr Ranger, pay a premium to shop where they employ more staff, or send the servants out to do it. If you don't like it go somewhere else.
