  • looks like some good advice offered (and some bad), seriously consider idnet, newnet and the entanet resellers (adsl24 vivaciti etc) with their 1 month contracts and good CS, you can't go wrong!

Just because you change ISP doesn't change anything as its still going through the same exchange and if that exchange is OLD then again nothing can be done.

    So YOU are talking rubbish.....

See exactly what happened to another user when they switched from AOL here

Your line attenuation figure seems to agree with your 1MB speed for a fixed rate ADSL however your figures could provide a significantly higher speed than this on ADSL max or ADSL2 see here

I have contacted a couple of ISP's and asked them to confirm if they would be able to supply me with 3Mpbs via ASDL Max.

All of them seem to put 1Mpbs as my limit. I have even copied the relevant links from this thread to them.

Why can't any of them offer me 3Mpbs:confused:

As I understand it. MAX is the type of cable that runs to your house (Just a fancy name for it). If you dont have it, you wont be able to get them speeds.

Thanks for the info. So even though my exchange is enabled my line might not be? Who do I confirm this.... Openreach?

This is what it says on Samknows about my exchange 'ADSL Max status:Enabled as of 31/03/2006'
