Pigpen - I hope your friend is ok - one of my closest friends had a biopsy a couple of weeks ago and fortunately hers was clear - I cried more than she did at the results. She did not have the virus though. I had nagged her for months to get her smear done and she only made the appointment cause she knew I would not let it rest.

Valli I do the meeting and greeting at the general hospital here. I direct people to clinics and wards and departments. Sometimes take them if they need assisstance. Offer support help etc if say some one needs a hand carrying their bags. Today I minded a baby for a short while while gran nipped to the loo. Then showed her where the garden was so she could sit for a while. I get asked questions about the car parking or visiting or local facilities.
Well done you - a vital job! Am I right in thinking it's voluntary?

This is what she did and we have ironed it onto her T shirt for tomorrow

You are quite right!- well done Miss A Super work - she has clearly understood her objective!
I wish I knew the answer. My son was a nice, bright, intellegent, polite little boy who turned into a horrible, lazy teenager. But what I can say is that he grew out of it. We had laid down the basics when he was younger, and even thought he didn't behave when he was a teenager, he has turned ino a very pleasant, hard working young man. There is light at the end of the tunnel.
Phew...I'll stop stressing abut mine then.

They aren't far from me and are really campaigning for change. I am sure I had my first while still a teenager, so why did they change it? This is one of the reasons I found
Statistics state that the incidence of cervical cancer in teenage girls is rare in the UK and following a study conducted by Cancer Research UK (CRUK), 'Benefit of cervical screening at different ages: evidence from the UK audit of screening histories' the NHS Cervical Screening programme raised the age from 20 to 25. This change came into effect in England in September, 2004. Scotland and Wales continue to invite women aged 20 for their first smear test.

    Petition I found too http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/smeartests/sign

Good news, DS2 can continue going to Beavers as there is enough spaces and they don't have a problem with him starting there when he's nearly 8, so he's really happy (please someone remind me next Tuesday to hand his form in) I am pleased he's enjoying it and he seems to get on a bit better with his peers from school there than he does when he's at school. That said the school bully (short kid with an evil mouth on him!) has backed off since he realised he had pushed his luck too far, so things seem a little calmer in school and in general.

Spent about an hour confusing myself by looking through possible courses again, I just don't know which to do. Science ones still a top contender. I think I might go to the OU office and look through the books a bit more, as they have what's included in each course etc up there for every course.

toots incase I don't get chance to call in tomorrow HAVE A LOVELY BIRTHDAY!!!!!

I can't remember what I have on tomorrow, I think tomorrows meeting is 1-3 or something daft which I will have to leave early from because of school finish times.....then something DP said we need to do on the morning, what the flup that was I don't know....

Right I best make me and DP some dinner as we've not eaten yet and he won't be back until about 10.30pm I don't think and sort packed lunches, find uniforms too (I know DS2 has some bits on the radiator...) I will see if I can get anything else in washer/out drying aswell.
One day I might be more organised...........

    Evening everyone.

Well have just had some news from my daughter. I knew it was something big when she nervously said Ive got something to tell you.

I am going to a greatgrandma again this will be the third.

I am both pleased and annoyed. Annoyed for lots of reasons. One being that GS should not be having anymore children. For reasons I cant go into. Dont get me wrong he loves his two DDs and does his best. But its done and the baby will be loved very much.

DD thought I would go mad and shout but that wont get us anywhere. Im still in shock.

justamum Glad you are feeling better.

hollyh hugs hope you are feeling better and your day improved.

Toots Happy Birthday for tomorrow. Have a lovely day.

Emily Hope all goes well tomorrow.

Valli Yes its a voluntary job.

Off to bed soon as Im back at work tomorrow.

Well done to A - mum must be very proud!

Have caught up with the thread from this morning but the first 20 pages will remain a mystery to me.

Just had a HHC of my own without really intending to, got up to make a cuppa and sort the laundry and ended up reloading the WM, hoovering the hall/landing and doing level 2 of yesterday's list on the lounge- feel so much better to have it done!

Tuesday Terrors- Living Room, Hall and Stairs
    Level 1
    Vacuum floors and sofas
    Level 2
    Dusting, even if around everything
Remove clutter making sure stairs especially are safe
Clean TV, other electricals and cabinets
    HHI - no chance, I don't iron!!!

Need to sort lunches although I'm home in the morning so I can do mine then and DH has started doing his own (he's bored of pasta and has started doing wraps). hard to believe that when I met him he wouldn't touch a lunch that wasn't from m&s ;)

Next job is to sort properly what I'm doing tomorrow night and then I can try and do the bedroom in the mornign...I have my smear at 10.20 so will have an extra 2 hours at home, even though I need to do some work!!

Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j

I had put my smear test tomorrow in mine, but marked it as private so in theory no one could see it was a smear, just that it was private....or so I thought til a colleague texted me to say that perhaps I was giving too much info...somehow the 'private' function hadn't worked so everyone in the organisation now knows.... :rotfl: :A

Rach - that's the sort of thing I'd do - reminds me of the time when I was working in an office full of blokes and we had a new lady start. She stuck a yellow postit one morning on her monitor to remind herself of an appointment she had in the evening. It said 'bikini wax'. It wasn't long before she scrubbed it out and wrote 'salon' instead :rotfl::rotfl:
