  • Harvest - am I mean or money saving?

I hate the way mum's buy stuff from the supermarket, take it to harvest and then we buy it back, usually for less - the only one doing well is the supermarket. This year I've got DS3 to take 10 potatoes out of the new sack I've brought - am I a tight cow?
No dusty - i think you are being very sensible - IMHO. BTW fingers crossed for your cash win - hope its real and a lot!!!!!

I have a confession too though, re the washing video on UTube - errr I hang my washing up exactly, and I mean exactly.., like the women was demonstrating..now that is sad!!!

    Dusty - I don't think you're mean either - I think you've done EXACTLY the right thing!

Well, I've done the kitchen almost to Pigpen's list. It was helpful that my friend up the road phoned so I could do it all with the headset on - it's amazing how chatting to someone hands free makes the chores go more quickly.

Now I'm going to create a magnificent stirfry from bits and pieces in the fridge then I'm going to find something to watch on TV for a bit and then HAVE AN EARLY NIGHT!

Dusty I would do exactly the same if it was me. Although I probably would add a couple of carrots and a parsnip, or something like that.

I remember when we had harvest at school when I was young, many many moons ago - ok not that long ago about 30 years ago..!! My mum used to make up a basket from an old mushroom trug thingy and put in whatever tins we had in the cupboard with the odd vegetable and loaf of bread. She never bought anything for the harvest festival though.

I called as Asda on the way home and spent a small fortune on food and some Christmas presents, they had some good deals which I just had to take advantage of although I perhaps looked like an alcoholic with the amount of booze in the trolley!!!! Got a bottle of Chateau Neuf Du Pape for Christmas day, a box o wine for me :D, some grolsch for me, whiskey and various other beers for pressies!
Can I come to yours for xmas then? Purleeeese

Well my list was very short today. I vacuumed downstairs and, er, that's it really. Don't know why but I'm feeling really down today. I really wish I had never come back last week after my brother's wedding. I could quite happily walk away and never look back :(
Sorry to hear this ... hope your mood lifts soon ... if you want a chat or a moan you're in the right place.
The video is mad, quite mad, (mmm, no wonder valli and tag like it... do you think they wear the obligatory head scarf and pinni too? :rotfl: )
I hang ALL my smalls indoors on the airer rather than hang them out, as I only have a washing line and nothing to hide them behind, but to be honest, more often than not, I tumble the small bits...
I DO NOT wear a headscarf and pinny - for pity's sake. Mind you I'm not ashamed of my smalls and I dare hang them on the line:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

    Morning flyladies,

mOZzy - your on form this morning;) Love the broom and eyebrows quip:rotfl::rotfl:
Thrilled to see that we have another flylady eligible to join 'The Peg Posse';)
**thinks** Really must start making up a members list:D

flower - No I do not wear a headscarf. It would mess my hair up. Or a pinny cos I am still young;)

However when it comes to me smalls. They get hung where ever they will fit. This is to make maximum use of all available line (it's a whirly one you see) ;)
and Tag, you'll notice, is the same!
To try and see things from the OH's POV.... and not just assume I'm right because I am. (I"m aiming high this week)
I could see ANYTHING from the POV of a diamond giver:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Well I have come in to a right old mess but the kids have cooked their own tea. Pasta... but two different types so 2 pans were used:rolleyes:
DS is writing homework and demanding spellings from me ...he could have learned to spell before but doesn't seem to have managed that one...and I am still reminding him to use capital letters for names:eek: .

So I have to go to Dronfield now to pick 3 kids up from Jui Jitsu but only one is mine...

    See you later

am ashamed to say my dusters are in the same drawer as the tea towels, are the microfibre cloths (apart from bathroom ones), do you think i should build an extension so i could add extra drawers?
