I'm in, away last part of the week, but hope to keep on top of it till then...They all have a mental illness over there.. way too full on.. I swear they do nothing else but cleaning when the whole idea is to make cleaning take LESS time leaving more time for things you enjoy.. like.. Merlin, Heroes and X Factor!
I'm glad someone else likes Merlin - so far people I have spoken to are not sure - I think it's one that will grow, I love it...
EDIT: Whoo Hooo, I've made the first page (little things and all that...) and I've only just realised I've gone over 1000 posts!LBM April 2013 - £29,000.00Vanquis CC's PAID - Debenhams SC PAID - A+L OD PAID - Asda CC £783.75Barclaycard CC £1400.78 - BoS CC PAID - Freemans Cat PAIDF/D Loan & CC £1458.96 - Santander Loan PAID - Mum Loan PAIDRBS OD PAID - F/D OD £1026.52Weekly Grocery Challenge - £95.00 budget / spend £-0 -

I'm in as was hoping for a good day of striking off today so could do minimal this week but such an innocuous line in that list has put paid to that, OMG the fun –
Extras for week
8. Boiler inlet pipe
Boiler in loft so went up armed with bucket as instructed by plumber (plus phone in case I needed Dad for assistance) and followed his instructions, result -
me taking the full force of cold water at full pressure from the inlet pipe, couldn’t get pipe back on because of the force of the water, couldn’t catch the water in the bucket because it was horizontal and couldn’t try to phone and stop water at the same time
stopped it when my brain started working again and I realised the valve must have been open rather than shut (as it should be) when I unscrewed the pipe, mopped up as best I could with a bath sheet that lives up there, didn’t dare phone Dad, came down to huge pools of water on the kitchen floor but thankfully the ceiling is in tact – water came through the downlighters – switched off the power as there had been a lot of water aimed at those lights, stood there shaking and in shock
thought everything was under control - had been to parents and borrowed heaters and they are drying out the loft which was doing fine, had just kept the kitchen lights circuit off at the mains. Just noticed laptop was running on battery and found all the sockets have blown – possibly result of 4kw of heaters from one socket  Flicked the rcd switch and blew again so now I have one light circuit working and nothing else, time to phone OH again
Right power on again, it was the heaters, the extension lead has melted, one heater on temporarily then it fused the replacement extension, now onto extension lead three, one heater again and fingers crossed
Think very soon that chocolate cupboard is going to be severely depleted :rotfl:
This saga has been going on now for over 3 hours so nothing else achieved from my list in that time, have just texted plumber then he doesn’t need to laugh to my face when I see him tomorrow afternoon, hope he'll be able to come round tomorrow nightDon't put it down, put it away - thanks Valli
Thank you to all who post competitions & help the smooth running of the comps board0 -
I'm in this week. Got to get on top of things because we are off to Florida on Thursday. We've just accepted an offer on our villa so we have to go and clear our stuff out.I'm
because we always planned to live there but haven't been able to get a visa and :j because I'll be able to pay some debts off when everything is settled.
I've been so busy recently I haven't had time to keep up the thread for weeks so hope everyone is well.
I'll post a list in the morning.0 -
Hi I'm new!! Do you mind if I join in? Really struggling at the moment, cleaning has always stressed me out and now I've got a 2 year old and a 3 month old baby, things are getting on top of me a bit housework wise. I stumbled across this thread and though it would really help me as housework really confuses me sometimes!
Many Thanks

Forgot to say, I'm having my kitchen done at the moment so tomorrows job is going to be a big one! Had the patio door put in yesterday and the floor is covered in brick dust - the good thing is that I've only got one little bit of worktop left to clean at the moment!0

I'm in for this week - the kitchen, bathroom, stairs, landing and my bedroom are great but, unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be anywhere for visitors to sit in the front room  Think it needs [strike]a little [/strike]lots and lots of work!!

Evening everyone, I am gonna try and start this from tomorrow, need to get in a routine as this house looks like a bombs hit it, its disgusting, made a start today with some polishing and hoovering, but this plan will make sure each room gets touched at least once a week, even if just a basic clean, much better than what it sees now.
Rock on tomorrow.
