  • awwww Choc, firstly let me say that your Tom is absolutely such a sweetie!!! He looks gorgeous in the Vamp Costume on Page One and also the one just ^^^ there :)

I'm so sorry to hear about your OH's redundancy...that really sucks!! But at least he got some Redundancy Money back, which is good news and, as you say, it means that he's around a little bit more, which is always great :)

I know you have 3 children hun, but if you're able to work a little more, could I be so bold as to suggest a Chatline? It's what I do, the money isn't great but at least you can do it exactly when you want and as much as you want....there are no set hours...and even if it only gives you an extra £100 per month, that's more than you had before...

But please PM me if you are interested....no pressure AT ALL...it was just a suggestion hun...feel free to take it or leave it :)

I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and that things get better for you soon...
  • Not sure that would really be my thing - I hate talking on the phone anyway! - but thanks for the thought. I bet my sister would be good at it though!
  • Hope everyone had a good day yesterday - we certainly did. Tom had a lovely first Christmas. He loved every present he opened and wasn't interested in the wrapping paper at all. Everything he opened he said "Ooooh, oooh!" then spent ages playing with each one. He still has presents to open as he wasn't that bothered about taking the paper off so I thought we'd leave some of his stuff until later.

The older two got a Wii Fit from my Mam and I am very much hoping I will become obsessed and lose some weight. I can already feel my stomach muscles aching from too much hula-hooping!

Hi! Can't believe I've missed so much on your diary. I thought I had it subscribed but it was the old one, which is why I wasn't seeing the new posts. D'oh.

Really sorry to hear about your DHs job, that's pretty hard but as you say, if you're seeing more of each other and if he's getting some work it's not too bad - could have been a lot worse I suppose.

Tom is gorgeous! Greg's coming on loads too, must post photos of him soon. Can't believe it's been a year since we were in late pregnancy, time really has flown by.

I got a wii fit as well but haven't taken it out the box yet. Perhaps a new year's resolution or something.

Are you going to be doing the money-neutral Christmas challenge again this year? Might give it a go this time.

If I don't pop back in here beforehand, all the best for the new year (since I totally missed wishing you a happy Christmas!), hope everything sorts itself out for you. x

Get the Wii Fit out of the box. I love ours. The kids have to almost fight with me to get on it!!

The money neutral Christmas challenge has just been put up. I need to get my finger out with daily clicks and I've just found the free scratchcard site!

I can't believe my Christmas holidays are already over and I haven't done anything I was hoping to do. The days just fly by without us really getting anything done. OH is at work tomorrow so I probably wont get much done then either. Tom tends to be much clingier when I'm the only one home.

Been discussing with OH trying to buy as little as possible in 2009. Hoping to only buy if we really NEED it and can't do without it. Hmmm... wonder how possible that is? I've given him my credit cards so I can't use them and I usually come out without my debit card (due to always leaving it on top the the compouter in the PINsentry thing-ummy) so hopefully I can't buy too much. Hoping for many, many No Spend Days. Feel free to nag and remind me of this!!

Had quite a productive day yesterday. OH and I spent a lot of the day sorting the attic. So far we've thrown away six bin bags of stuff and an old mattress and have a further binbag of stuff which has been taken through freecycle. Not finished yet but it should only take an hour or so.

Joined the January No Spend Days Challenge - aiming for 15 this month. Yesterday we spent nothing but urgently need milk today. Also joined the spend only £100 on clothes this year challenge. Allowed £100 each for OH, DS and I but only £50 each on DD and Tom as they have masses of stuff anyway. Sorted out Tom's stuff still to grow into and he has loads of 9-12 month, 12-18 months and 18-24 months still to grow into. Really I only buy for Tom and DD as the stuff is so cute.

OH and DD are currently out at the allotment they have taken on with OH's brother. It's going to be a lot of work but hopefully they will produce lots of veg over the next year. It should keep him busy anyway as work seems to have dried up. Not sure how long they will be out though as it's started snowing.
  • Finished the attic but it actually took 3 hours! But it is lovely and organised now..goodness knows how long it will stay like that.

We've finally started getting Tom to go to bed on an evening by himself. He does sit in the cot for a while before falling asleep but he doesn't make any fuss at all, bless him.

Need to go grocery shoppin tomorrow but hoping to spend as little as possible. Will need to check the freezer and cupboards first and make a meal plan.

A 3 hour attic *sigh*. If only my garage could be cleared in 3 hours...

If you need any baby clothes at all, not that it's likely, but maybe the boring stuff like sleepsuits or vests or anything at all, just shout as I'm going to be freecycling all Greg's stuff in my bid to get rid (ooh, I like the sound of that!) and it sounds like he's about 1 or 2 sizes ahead of Tom so you're very welcome to anything I've got.

I've still not got that Wii Fit out the box. Partly lack of time, partly because we've all got so addicted to Mario Kart that whenever there is a spare 5 mins that's what's on. Must try harder to create time to play computer games...
