thas how long it really hurt for lol! i had been having backache for around 3 hours and said to oh better go and get this checked just as well eh!!
MW team are really good here only thing i didnt like was when they asked if the kids would be involved? i thought that was strange? each to their own i suppose!
You must have a lot of earth mother types in your area:p I personally agree with you that kids shouldn't be there I think it would traumatise them!
Christopher cries if he catches me being sick in the morning, I think he'd be inconsolable if he saw me giving birth!
My friend had an accidental HB and her little almost 3yr old slept through all the commotion including an ambulance turning up so you just have to hope bubs comes after bed time:cool:

He's so obsessed with his new baby thats coming he wants to look at the scan pic and kiss it which is very sweet but I don't want our only pic to be covered in sticky finger prints and slobbery toddler kisses:rolleyes:

  • I'm still feeling pretty sick most days, to the point of having to lie down, but not taken any medication for quite a while, which is good. Morning sickness at 18+3, aren't I lucky!

Had a chat with a friend last night. I knew she was a Health Visitor, but turns out shes only done that for a few years - before that she was a midwife! So I asked her lots of questions! When I mentioned about the kicking, she stuck her hand on my belly. She did apologise, I suppose I should forgive her seeing as she is a professional. No one else best touch me!

Still not been able to get a satisfactory answer from anyone about pain relief. I might have to ask if I can have a chat with an anaestatist at some point before I go into labour. Or I might just decide to not give birth. Maybe its best if baby stays in there.
    Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.

Feely - sorry your still feeling sick :( You will find that most HVs were MWs first as you have to have been a nurse involved with children before you can be a HV so most were MWs but some were pediatric nurses - There you go fact fans ;)
I had Christopher weighed on Tuesday and it was a trainee male HV I've never seen a male one before it was quite a novelty! my usual HV was with him and she was really excited about bump as she hadn't had the notice through yet as it all goes through the PCT first, he was 25lb 9oz:eek: no wonder my back kills me from lugging him round everywhere can't believe this time 2yrs ago I was sporting a cute little bump with him in it!

oh Feely I forgot to put in there, have you contacted the labour ward to see if you could go in for a private tour and let them know what and why you want to talk to them about. I take it your trying to find out if there is something thats not an opiate you could have? (I hope I've remembered that right)
Maybe you would be an ideal case for using hypnobirthing? do you know if your ok with having the entonox? - its all I had so hopefully you'll be lucky like me anyway

poor you feely still being sick? thats not fun at all?? my first pregnancy i was given diamorphine and hated it as i didnt feel in control 2nd i had nothing no time? and last 2 gas and air. i like to be in control and the thought of these crazy drugs kind of scare me as i dont feel like i could get on with having a baby and have my head in the clouds! i know everyone is different and circumstances can change what you need and when, i think you just need to wait until you are there and decide best action for you (preferably not while shouting give me anything just get it out!) my SIL was given an epidural and she loved no pain but said she couldnt push and ended up with forceps:O

well unless its the middle of the night and no way of getting family to take kids then they will be in the house but def not in the room!

a male HV what a novelty might ask my HV is we canget one lol!!
What's for you won't go past you
  • Toto - lily-anne is gorgeous!!
13 hours in hospital seems quite good for having lost a litre of blood
Hope you are all sleeping and settling well.

I have had some bad news today that a colleague who was recently given 18 months to live passed away last night, he was only 45. I was only saying to my husband last night that I should pop up and see him at some point, at least he was in my thoughts.

Cherish your loved ones girls and never put off til tomorrow making contact with those who you hold dear. :A
