i really wanted HB last time but due to lack of staff and equiptment i wasnt allowed:( so far everything seems to be fine and we have moved so the new MW team are fantastic!! dont think OH is too keen on the idea but im not sure i would make it to the hosp in time! from me entering hosp car park to having baby in my arms last time was 40 mins:eek:

I was told that you can't be refused, if you want a HB they have to provide. Had the last 2 at home both times in the day with other kids at home. They had a box ready with new colouring things, snacks and drinks which they took out as we disappeared into the bedroom. They were fantastic and kept out of the way. Like you the really painful bit only lasted 45 mins so it was fine and when baby was 2 mins old they came in and saw it. Fantastic! Was told last time I was high risk 'cos it was my 5th so waiting for the comment from the consultant this time when I say no way to the hospital.
Too many children, too little time!!!

Nicole: milk is a basic thing for heartburn or you're allowed to have tums/original rennies - Check the label in case they are the modern fancy ones coz they aren't allowed. :rotfl:

Hi which one do you mean as I bought the fruit rennies and had them as the pharmisist said, I could not stomach any minty or aniseed and these ones work well, do you know something I dont?

    Thanks

    Hi all,

Thankyou all so much for your support - means a lot.. You're all fab! :D

Pains are still there but getting no worse so I'm not feeling too bad. Feeling better mentally too, so just need to put my mind at rest and find out if it's in the right place tomorrow morning.

Our big dept boss came in today, full of concern. It was so sweet really, he doesn't usually do emotions other than angry! Wants me to go see him as soon as I'm back to know everything is okay (*fingers crossed*).

Hugs to all having a bad day :)

all i would say is tell them at your booking apointment that you want a homebirth, that way they can book you in and you know your more likely to get what you want!

If the pharmacist said they were ok then they'll be the right ones. the ones we can't have are generally chewy or say they help wind as well. its just the additional drugs in those aren't preg safe. always check the mint ones for peppermint oil coz its unsafe according to this list on babycentre

  • God it's a minefield isn't it?
I have been having fruit rennies and tescos own fruit antacids without a thought...I also have gaviscon on hand for emergencies but generally it is so vile that I stay away unless I have to.

well as we all know by now I don't follow the eggs/meat/cheese related rules but the herbs scare me! I had a normal craving (ie not a mad must have it now pg craving) for spearmint chews but tesco didn't have them in:eek: so I picked up a 6pk of softmints then noticed they said flavoured with natural peppermint oil  thankfully they had them in spearmint too:j I ate a whole tube in about 2mins:D
