I went to the docs today and has made an appointment for me at the EPAU in the morning. Im a bit nervous as i was feeling really sick in an afternoon up until Friday but ive not felt sick since then.

Nicole I hope everything went okay this morning x

I wonder if the worry has an effect on morning sickness. I had horrendous morning sickness, but when I had the bleeding, it stopped until I'd had the scan. Perhaps it is related? I mentioned the fact that I'd stopped feeling sick when I went to A&E and the EPU, and neither seemed bothered - maybe its common.

  • angela - hope you are okay, try not to worry too much.

The stuff about feeling sick meaning baby is sticking is an old wives tale to make icky feeling pregnant ladies feel better...

take care and keep us informed

Thank you....that has put my mind at rest a bit as i was more worried about that than the bleeding. Ive never been wishing myself to feel sick before.

At least tomorrow i will know whats happening and then if everythings okay and it happens again, I wont worry so much

    Thanks again..

    Hi ladies

Just an update! I had my second midwife appointment yesterday which was disappointingly with a 'locum' midwife. Evereything went okay and I got to hear the baby's heartbeat for th first time...Yay! I was a little bit concerned when the student midwife worked out my date as being 15 weeks and 3 days when my calender is telling me that I am 16 weeks today!!!

I had also had a letter from the hospital advising me that I needed to attend for an ante-natal appointment with a consultant. However, I thought that I would be having all my appointments with the midwife at the surgery. I asked the locum midwife about it and she didn't seem to know why I had been asked to attend as I wasn't high risk or anything. the appointment is scheduled for 10 days after my 20 week scan so not sure if it's to go through any finding on there or what really...

Does anyone here know if this is unusual for an otherwise 'normal' pregnancy?

    Thanks in advance

    Kathy x
  • I hope that everything goes well for you tomorrow angela...I have also spent quite a lot of time over the last few weeks worrying about whether I'm feeling sick enough, if I'm actually feeling sick or is it in my head etc. etc....but I've been told by several people that lack of morning sickness doesn't mean that there is a problem

right - I am blaming you lot!!!! I went out to do my errands - and ended up in teh tesco extra store at the otherside of town. When I pulled out of the carpark the HUGE Mcdonald's sign caught my eye and all I could think about was pg cravings discussed on here!

So I caved and ordered a big mac large meal at the drive thru and have just got home and scoffed the lot! Yummy - that was such a good idea :D

    I tell you - It's all your fault :D

  • Apart from getting up every two hours or so for a wee, I have slept like a 'baby' this preg :D. With Poppy I was up around 5am every morning.....and then I would watch all the pregnancy programmes on The Discovery Channel and scare myself witless!. Too much information is sometimes not a good thing! :rotfl:

I have been having a little panic about this new baby though. Poppy has been so good and slept right through since she was 8w. I know I can't be so lucky again so am preparing myself for the complete opposite this time!.

Morning! Does anyone else have crazy insomnia? I've been having trouble getting to sleep for a few days but last night was insane! I had to pu the light back on and read after an hour of lying there listening to OH snore, and then I read until nearly 4am before I felt sleepy!

I checked in my book and apparently it is normal so that's great as I really want a normal PG this time, but blimey it's annoying!

Anyone else suffering or got any tips on dealing with it? I have to be acareful not to wake OH as he has to go to work - I'm so glad I'm not working right now as I'd suffer so badly with that little sleep.

What are you doing during the days while not working? I am off too and had trouble falling (and staying) asleep over the past couple of weeks, but when I 'do' more stuff during the day it is not a problem I found. The more active you are (within reason of course) the less problems with sleeping there will be. When I'm at home, I try not to just slob on the sofa or sit still too long doing one thing, take walks when I can etc and on these days I sleep fine. Apart from the numerous toilet stops in the night, but can fall asleep straight after luckily.
