well we have had a busy 2 days my friend had a baby girl last night 14 days late and emergency section in the end at 9.30pm!! (they are sending her home tom? thought it was a bit quick?)

and also my SIL had a baby boy tonight at 4.55pm 7lb 13.5oz am glad all went fine as her little boy died 2 christmas' ago with a rare genetic disorder. sadly i cannot go and visit as i woke up this morning full of the cold, glands up and sore throat so dont want to pass it on but am desperate to go and drop off presents and have a wee hold! and its also her DS1 birthday tom so 2 birthdays in 2 days lol!

we have an NCT sale here so if im feeling up to it i may go and have a look! have slept most of the day and 2 LO are full of this also so will have to see how tonight goes? DS2 looks as though he has been in a fight as his eyes are swollen poor thing:(

    I've been Money Tipped!
Good Morning all, first vist in a while, finding being back to work after having summer hols off a tad difficult!

    Hope everyone is well. :)

Had 20 wek scan this week but baby laid in a way which ment they could not check all they needed to so have another appointment next week. From the measurements they did take they say they are on the small side and I will have to be scanned again at 28 weeks for growth, trying not to worry and as long as everything is how it should be with scan next week then baby will be ok. (not sure if im looking at his the right way or not!)

Hope everyone has a nice weekend x

  • Welcome to the world baby Sam, hope you didn't scare mummy too much making an early arrival! Congrats lwcus78, hope you are doing well too!?

Congrats candy, hope DD is happy and well.

Hope the next scan is ok choccie, at least they are keeping an eye on bubs, most people like the idea of having one on the smaller side!

I can confirm what others have said, the stitches aren't that bad in the big scheme of things! I had them as DD was born using the ventouse and I had to be cut! At the time, they had mentioned a c/s as she was getting distressed so at that point, I didn't care and would rather go through stitches than a c/s, I too thought they were worse than pushing the head out! Tea tree oil in bath worked a treat. Also pelvic floor exercises afterwards are supposed to increase blood flow and aid healing?!

Well had my 38wk check with mw yesterday. Head is 4/5 engaged so going in the right direction. I asked about "old wives tales" for getting things moving. Apparently fresh pineapple is a bit of a no-go - you have to eat 6 or 7 whole ones for them to make any difference, YUK!. She did mentioned the raspberry leaf tea or tablets which are supposed to "tone" the uterus or cervix (can't remember which, will google it later) from 38 wks onwards. Also mentioned
s e x ;) (at which point DH eyes lit up but he must have thought better of it as it didn't get mentioned again!) and n1pple stimulation but that needs to be done for 3 hrs a day:eek: !

I'm half tempted to let nature take its course (even though DD was 2 weeks late and I ended up being induced, no, didn't try any of the above last time around either!!!), if any of the above "methods" were a sure fire way of getting things started, surely no bubs would ever go overdue  !

Hugs to all, hope everyone has a good weekend x

I tried all of the things that are supposed to help labour along, and it did nothing, had to be induced at 2 weeks over last time.
This time going to try something like reflexology. will be reading up on it in the future, as would like to go to my local midwife led unit, instead of the hospital.
    heres hoping.

Well I had a bit of a show yesterday morning and more during the night last night. Have had persistant lower back pain since yesterday and period type cramps since first thing this morning. Kinda feels like something might be happening....

Emms, sounds like things are on the move! could still be a few days though so try to get plenty of good meals and sleep!

I had a chinese that had pineapple and chillies in it the night before Christopher arrived (he was born lunch time) but I also had a bit of lower back pain so may have had nothing to do with it. I got rasberry leaf tea but it got lost in the post and finally found its way to me when Chris was 6weeks old! but it is scientifically proven to help speed up labour according to info on babycentre so I will be using it this time just in case (even tho MW that delivered Chris said nxt baby would prob only take about 2hrs to pop out!) eek!
The very best is sometimes what nature gives us for free.
