PS. If you go for an inferior product, as I am sure you will after reading the previous threads. 1) Make sure that the salesman shows you where he is getting his prices from (he probably wont). 2) Ensure that you have a lifetime guarantee on all sealed units (I know you wont get this). 3)Read the small print on the back of the contract. His will probably say something like "the window that you have been shown in the presentation may differ from the ones that will be fitted". 4) Any discounts that are offered should have paperwork to back them up. Make sure you see them, otherwise the salesman is just making it up as he goes along. Avoid like the plague. I can confidently put all this down because Everest does not operate like this.0

I refer you to the Daily Telegraph Wednesday 28th September 2005. The ASA, after various tests on products compared to all other major competititors agreed that we could keep our motto "fits the best". This was after a gruelling court case where we had to prove the fact, otherwise we would of had to drop the slogan. The ASA ruled, and I quote "The advertisers proved their standard products had a significant advantage above their competitors". I refer you to Carlsberg which is now "probably" the best lager in the world after being ordered to change their slogan.
By all means if you want to save a few pennies and repent in 5 years time, then knock yourself out. Just remember, that there is a legitamate reason that Everest are allowed to use that slogan.0 -
are you sure your windows need replacing?
many wooden frames can be repaired at a fraction of the price of new, and in my opinion, nasty plastic windows

2.does this lifetime guarantee pass on to new home owner if the house is sold and what happens if everest should go bankrupt something which recently happened to st helens glass a company which was under the everest umbrella
3 rubbish most companies show sample window my own company uses profile branded brochures so we couldnt switch the profile (extrusion the windows /doors etc are made of) :rotfl:
4.rubbish any company can work from an inflated price list should they be able to offer 40% discounts like your company does:rotfl: every company has a bottom line which they cannot cross that means when you do not have these offers on your company is making an extra 40% profit .
some people might be a bit green but not the vast majority on here .Also may i ask how many jobs you have sold have you personally been back to and seen the finished job collected payment /dealt with any problemsif you think peoples advice is helpfull please take the time to clicking the thank you button it gives great satisfaction0 -

Everest reliy heavily on this in their sales pitch, all the salesman are given copies of the relevant newspaper articles. Of course what they don't say is that Everest selected the tests that were used to compare the windows and they were very selective about that!
Everest are VERY expensive. Whilst I will say the quality is good it is certainly not 2-3 times better as their price suggests. Certainly Anglian, for example compares equally if not better on quality but costs less.
If you've ever had an Everest salesman come to visit you, part of the sales process is called price conditioning. It is designed to make you expect a high price, so that when they offer you a discount you feel you are getting a good deal. The process is called the GEE UP! The salesman will say things such as "We will not be the cheapest, but we are the best" etc.
OK guys if you want the best possible price from Everest this is how to play the game. DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING ON THE NIGHT!! No matter what the salesman says or how many calls he makes to his manager. DO NOT SIGN ON THE NIGHT.
In a day or two you will get a call from the company and their sole objective is to get a deal even if it means the lowest price. This is a process known as ripping. If you want the best price from Everest wait till you get this call and haggle. Don't be supprised if they offer a figure half of what the salesman quoted you.0 -
Larger companies still use self employed commission salesmen and fitters even if they say they don't. This adds a lot to the price. Find a local company and ask them for recommendations from jobs done a year or so ago. (if its gonna go wrong than a year will show it). Ask previous clients. Guarantees are only as good as the company backing them. get a longer warranty on the sealed units rather than the frames.0
