Its easy enough to ask before you buy. The more people that say 'I won't buy it from you because you use X to deliver' the more likely you are to get a response.

If you want a saturday delivery ask the company, if they won't do it then they are not worth buying from, surely?

exactly, you dont even seem prepared to ask? since its a big deal for you
doesnt bother me so i dont ask but you seem to have major issues over a relativly simple set up
i doubt its any trouble for a retailer to charge and order a saturday delivery

I wouldnt mind WHEN they deliver if they did not insist on damaging every parcel i have had from them.
Anyone had success complaining to them?

I can't just drop everything and inconvenience my colleagues at a day's notice sit around at home for a day, like piffy on a rock bun.

What exactly is piffy on a rock bun

However, I agree with your point to an extent, except that City Link, Parcelforce et al are just as bad. It is true that it is down to the companies you order from to provide more delivery options, and I always arrange deliveries to work if at all possible to save problems. However, where a delivery is missed, by whatever delivery company, I find they have some of the worst procedures and customer service of any companies out there - and that's saying something! They induce the most telephone rage, while simply trying to access goods that you own and have paid for, and seem to find it entertaining to make it as difficult as possible for you to get at them.

I once read the Customer Comment book at one depot while I was waiting for a van to return with my goods on it (even though I had been assured my goods were definitely in the depot before I set out on my 30-mile round trip), and it was full of sheer frustration and rage from cover to cover. I wonder if anyone ever reads (or responds to) these comments?

DHL have been perfect for me .Shipped a parcel from HK to UK. Left HK on Friday (their Sat) and arrived with me 11AM on Monday. Can't get better than that.

Sadly the shear number of parcels they handle mean they are always going to get upset customers.

Regarding failed deliveries, it will be a lot less than you imagine. It sounds ridiculous but its not DHL's job to tell you when a parcel is arriving, it's the retailer. If they give you a tracking number, it tells you expected delivery date.

I suppose I'm biased. My DHL depot is 10 miles away, for many others, I expect and assume it would be much much more. I understand frustration. The upside and downside of a massive company I suppose
  • I had 4 deliveries from Drop Hide Lose now.

All of them have been from different retailers.

3 of them were attempted to be delivered to the same named road in the wrong town about 20 miles away from me! How I dont know when all the packages had my postcode on which is completely different to the other address.

And I had one yesterday, tracked it early yesterday and said it was out for delivery. So spent my whole day off waiting in for it. Got to about 5.30 so I phoned the depot to find out whats what ( I have the local number for the depot after last time!). They said it wouldnt be delivered now, it will be tomorrow as all the vans are back.

Checked the tracking and it still said out for delivery so I decided to drive to the other house in the other town to see if by chance history had repeated itself a 4th time, no answer from that house so back I come only to find DHL van outside my house about to drive off! They delivered at 6.45pm even though I was told all the vans were back!

From now on if I know a company is going to use DHL, I simply wont buy from them.
