Bargaining with Orange

  • I'm aware many people enjoy the O2 service, and would describe themselves as happy customers.

    However my only dealings with O2 are my brother, who has a PAYG SIM. Some sort of network issue meant that an important text from him to our mother ("Please can you call me urgently, I have no money to call you") took two days to be transmitted.

    I tried a Tesco (O2 network) PAYG SIM earlier this year, and immediately abandoned it when I couldn't get an outgoing line to make a call.

    The only reception problems I've ever had in eight years of using Orange were in the highlands of Scotland, and when my handset started to fail (not Orange's fault).

    For that reason, I'd be prepared to pay a bit more to remain with Orange, but not any price.
