  • Not read through the whole thread so hope I got what I am about to say in the right context. :D

Hello, I am an Ebay seller of almost 10 years. I would culmalitvely say that I've probably made over £20000 in sales. Sadly, it's mostly all gone on bills.
Any help, opinions, views I may hold those are my own. Respect them as you would expect the same in return. Offered freely, is gleaned from a lifetime of experiences, knowledge gaining. Passed on to benefit others. I may be direct, ask you questions but those are to help you. Up to you if you choose to take it. I won't judge you either way.

And if I made that amount, that's where mine would go as well...unfortunately.

wow 20 grand i need to start ebaying
  • Well, I probably made more. But, it's only when you look back, and think 'did I really make all that much over that time and add it up' that you realize. Sadly. Or I'd be jetting off here, there and everywhere. :D

  • Everything, though, was from my own collections of things. Apart from the odd 'flutter' I had when I decided to make some things of my own. Everyone else was doing it on Ebay so I thought I would join in as well. It's just very fortunate that when I was younger I used to collect. So, for a short time, I went off my normal knowledge base. And some of the things I collected went for some very high prices. And were very very rare. If someone wants it then they will pay through the nose for it. 3 books back in 2005? Paid my rent for a few months. Not kidding, being deadly serious. Last year. Same thing more or less over a few months. But I spent it cos it was quite a large sum.

So, er, yes Ebay does come in handy with bills at times. ;)

PS The down side is seeing all your collections go, because you know you can never replace them.

But I mentally put that upset aside because it brought me money in. So, yes, it was upsetting but it was making my life easier by taking pressure off in that direction. Also, I knew those things were going to someone who could enjoy them. I'd enjoyed them for years so it was time for others to. They'd only gather dust on shelves, in an attic. Then be valueless.

I find it liberating now to get rid of my stuff. Yes I spent years collecting items but then to free up the space and get some money is perfect.

You have just reminded me of items that reached fantastic prices including a Terry Pratchett Discworld diary that I was going to use but didn't - sold for £33. I was on the verge of throwing it out as it was out of date, glad I didn't!
OH's vintage Lego, toy cars, some kind of toy gun (that fetched £400)

Anybody else had success at getting good prices on eBay?

Nothing in the region of £400 but I'm up to £165 for 19 items (mainly shoes and clothing that has been in the wardrobe for a while, some of it for ages!)
Listings end tomorrow but the total it going up every hour so far. Was £159 about 2 hours ago.
  • Hi!
I have got off to a mixed start.- did well last week, but only one item selling on ebay at the moment.
My amazon cds came to the end of their listing, and I relisted some, but forgot the rest, so will have to reinput them again.
Im going to try music magpie for those that wont go on amazon.

...but Im feeling really sorry for myself - I have an awful cold and everywhere aches !!!!
To top it off, OH left the childrens car door wide open for 4 hours in this rain!!!!!
(He keeps doing it - very lucky not to have lost suff from it) .

He is now drying off the car seats in the sitting room.....
