  • Hi CC,

I didnt find a way of transferring funds direct from paypal to a credit card, but transferred the paypal funds into my bank account, then put that into my credit card.
    cheers, LHB

Think the confession about being an estate agent has made people flee :rotfl:Noticed that another eBay challenge has been set up and one of the older ones resurrected. Just let me know if you want to continue this one or if you have jumped ship in search of pastures new!

Got alot going on right now! not got the ebay thing going yet for this year. no motivation

Really in desperate need for money :-(

opened a new account, listed 5 things that ended yesterday, i had 3 watchers, no bidders:(

Listed another 7 last night, checked account this morning , a pair off adidas trainers were 'removed 'by ebay because i breached there listing policy!!
I listed in the title as 'nearly new'

I think i will list everything on thursday as 99p, cant be asked with this ebay lark right now!!!
  • I'm not selling anything for now. I am having a bit of an 'Ebay holiday' if you like. :D Mostly because I got so fed up of dragging all the things to the post office. Got a bit monotonous after a while. And, I usually (well more lately anyway) shut down before and after Christmas because of the postal situation and far too many bidders are likely to use it as an excuse to say they never received items.
Any help, opinions, views I may hold those are my own. Respect them as you would expect the same in return. Offered freely, is gleaned from a lifetime of experiences, knowledge gaining. Passed on to benefit others. I may be direct, ask you questions but those are to help you. Up to you if you choose to take it. I won't judge you either way.

Hey Floxxie from the MFW board, you've convinenced me I need to clear some of my stuff, I have half a room full of stuff that needs selling/charity shopping or freecycling so I'm up for an ebay challenge.

Not sure how succesful I'm going to be, but we have some household stuff to save for and I don't want to take away from the OP i'm doing on the mortgage at the moment so any profit from ebay will be going towards that, have about £4,500 to save before March 2010.

Will start sorting this out in the next couple of days with the intention of listing everything of 5 day auction on Thursday.
  • Hi - looked at the post office, but the line was far too long.Ill have 3 items to post tomorrow.
DS1 in in hospital for an op on wed/thurs.
Ill dig out more clutter when we get back.
Otherwise, just trying to deal with the nightmare that is tax credits. What year is everyone working on? - they have just sent me 2006/2007!!!!!!
    cheers

Selling the junk on eBay is going really well and I have still got half the garage to work through.

My total stands at £989 since December '08 when I got the bug.

I'm going to list another 20 items this week, so that they finish at the weekend, and then I'll have 1 week before I go on holiday to get them all sent out (if they sell).

I didn't realise that the free chimps you got with the PG Tips teabags were so desirable.
I've sold 3 for £40 in the last week. I've still kept one for myself.

I finally sold an old (10 year) Swatch watch that was on it's 3rd week of relisting for £16. I had almost given up on getting a sale. Next stop would have been the charity shop.

There was also a handbag that I couldn't seem to get rid off after 3 listings (unsold again and heading for the charity shop), when on Sunday evening I got an email from someone who missed the auction deadline and still wanted to buy it.
We agreed a price and I ended up £8 better off.

Merlinexcalibur - I too hate having to queue in the Post Office, but I pay for my postage online and get one of my colleagues at work to drop it off (and get COP stamped) when they have to take work-related post to the local Post Office.

Larger items I arrange for DHL and UPS to pick them up from work.

    Welcome Welshlassie!

Have just been reading another MFWers message - uzubairu - what an achievement and has really put my effort to shame. Here's hoping we can get rid of everything and make inroads on the mortgage debts.

longhotbath - don't tell me it is that time of the year already? I am rubbish at tax credit forms and always have to phone up and get them to do it for me. Have also just realised that I have destroyed all the childcare invoices from last year and I need them  But 2006/7? Have they made a mistake?

Lexxx, I know how you feel (it is the story of eBay for me) but I have also decided that if you go in with a positive frame of mind, it will happen! Am also going to add some more listings on Thursday so keep your chin up and hopefully there will be plenty of buyers. (How much do you need to raise by when? Perhaps we could have some quick suggestions for you that don't involve eBay!)

Are yours in perfect condition with the tags? What price did you start at?

I have two; think one has tags and the other doesn't.

Congratulations on your eBay achievement - there's hope for the rest of us! :T

  • Hi - re the tax credits, yes... they made a BIG mistake - they have underpaid us by about £9k, and decided that we owe them £4K and want that paid immediately. (they changed our address on their records without our knowledge or consent to one that we moved out of over 8 years ago - and sent current owners everything they need to duplicate our financial lives!!!
I am now sorting it, but am preparing myself for a big and long battle.
Not sure I'll get it all back, but am prepared to take it as far to the top as I can. I have NO trust in these government departments as its happened a few times - all going to the same address. (ie passport change of address going to the old addresswith driving licence and birth certificate ! , ds2's passport date of birth being wrong when I sent in the birth certificate. Why dont they care???) rant over....

There is something so fantastic about selling free stuff on ebay - I sold a few freebies after Christmas with great results. Need to find more. :rotfl: It reminds me of the clover toast rack - I still have one, but its been well used. Bargain hunt kept selling them for about £14 a few years ago.

I have a few designer childrens clothes to go, but on ebay they are not even getting bids - Tommy Hilfiger, so they are off to the nct nearly new in a few weeks...

I used a courier for the first time 2 weeks ago - wonderfully easy, and buyer very happy!!

    Have a great evening, LHB
