On the business side I sell whatever I can lay my hands on..and books of course!

Really though I have slowed down the non book side of things as I was spending a lot of time for little return, I even closed my ebay shop.

  • I used to have an Ebay shop too but closed it down. The last lot of listings I had I only had 23 items, when I first started doing it I used to have between 300 and 400 so it was worth it then but part of the debt I have is because I was buying stuff to sell so just can't afford it at the moment.

I used to sell some books years ago, bought lots of Balamory and Meg and Mog books the Meg and Mog books were really good sellers, I used to buy them from Oldroyd books but haven't bought anything or looked at their site for ages.

That's my total for today. Hopefully can get a few more things on Turbolister later tonight ready for tomorrow.

Got lots finishing in an hour and will relist those that don't sell tomorrow.

I'm not going to be listing until Thursday although am getting lots of toy cars ready for then. In the old days when the Americans picked up your search, I would sell them for lots of pennies but I had a look last night and most aren't going at all. I might pay the extra to get USA visibility but it makes me

Have one item about to finish, currently at £155. Feel sick as I always do. Hope I am not going to get done over!

Have had two packages go missing so now have to find the time to sort out the paperwork.

Well doen everyone. You are all putting me to shame...but then that's not so unusual :rotfl:

By one of those strange co incidences all I have done this evening is sell overseas, I haven't had a single UK buyer..and I don't any extra for any overseas visibility.

I've a lot still to finish and many of those have bids but so far I have sold 2 to Australia, 2 to the States, one to Canada, one to Italy and 1 to Germany. I'm running out of airmail stickers!

    How weird is that?

EDIT: This is on my private account BTW.

    Afternoon All,

Please may I join again? I missed my target of £150 by £72 last month eeek! But still ~ it’s £78 I wouldn’t of had! So I started again on Saturday, sold three bits for £20 all together ~ have lots clothes I want to sell. Put a few on there for 99p, was hoping they would go for a bit more but never mind. Really need to work my bum off this month as I don’t really have many big items to sell.

I’m thinking maybe I don’t put my items on there long enough (Impatient).. Would I sell more if I listed them for longer? .. As a buyer if I want something I always look at the ones finishing sooner so I only ever list them for three days at the most? .. Am I being silly and does listing for longer tend to get more watchers?

Well I have listed 5 items on ebay today and when I get home from I’m going to set up an amazon account and have a peek at Green Met ~ I have lots of books that never seem to sell on ebay.

    Fingers crossed ..

    xo

I can only just read that - makes my eyes go funny:rotfl:. I always list for 10 days, or a minimum of 7. If you have something on for twice as long, chances are you will get twice as many watchers. For the first 3 days I usually get a couple of watchers on most items but on 10 days I usually have between 5 - 15 watchers in total. Thats on clothes and accessories so I suppose it might depend what type of items you are selling

  • Hi

I have had a couple of overseas buyers today, one is from Australia and I can't remember how much I quoted her for postage, I think it was £3.50 for a baby shorts set, should I just send an invoice with £3.50 on and hope for the best, I'm sure if I've added over she'll let me know.

My new totals as I've just relisted some more so last lot for today.

    5 new listings
    75 relists

Am awaiting payment for a few items totally £74. I should have £145 going into my bank account over this week and will withdraw some more when I get over £50.

I'm really loving this, I wouldn't have listed as much if it wasn't for all you lovely people motivating me to get it done. I still have so much more to do.

So a big Thank You to everyone.

  • Floxxie - When you claim for a lost parcel do RM normally refund you what the item sold for plus the postage you charged or just what the item sold for and the actual postage it cost to send it? I need to claim for a lost parcel that I've already refunded for and I keep forgetting to ask at the Post Office for a claim form.

Once when I had a Business parcel go missing they wrote to me after sending the form in asking me for the original receipt of where and how much I bought it for and I didn't have it so didn't bother in the end.

    Thanks

For info - if anyone needs a LOT of bubble wrap Viking Direct are doing buy one get one free on their 60 metre rolls at the moment. Its £25.70 including postage but for 120 metres thats pretty good I think. Cheaper too if you are registered as a business at £18.99 plus postage

I'm not sure how long the offer is on for though
