oooh - Im a bit miffed tonight.

I have a large, collection only item that Im expecting to make about £40 on.

It was upto £20 with 5 days to go and 2 bidders, when bidder 2 retracted her bid and gave the reason as my altering the listing.
I didnt, and that reason is given in the bid history which makes me look sort of daft.

Can I do anything? Id rather a bid retraction than a NPB, but will the lie affect the final value?

    Morning all,

I've been having fun reading through all of your posts. I've just made a very recent return to ebay as part of my decision to get my head out of the sand and my hands out of my pockets.
I'm currently trying to get at least 3 items a day listed - I think back to a few years ago when I used to list about 30+ a day but it was starting to take over my life - I was however making some good money, pity I never say any of it - long story. Another day perhaps.
Anyway I just want to say - I'm with you on this one. I put a book up last week that I'd picked up at work for nothing and got £12 for it so that was a good start. The 4 things I have listed currently haven't got any bids on them though but hey - I know from experience that if it doesn't sell one week, it may well be snapped up the next.
If I can help anyone at all with any questions, I will do my best - I am sure there are plenty of others on here who know it inside out though.
So - count me in on the challenge. Ideally I want to make £26 a day ... this would put me on track to hit my target. It doesn't all have to be from ebay but I'm hoping the majority of it will be :)

Woo hooo - nice going! Hope today is a good one for you too, even if it is raining :(

I need to get on with some listing - have picked myself up lots of brand new books at work, all just there for the taking - and yes, it's all allowed - thankfully. It's a constant source of stuff. One question though - has anyone had any better luck selling books on amazon than on ebay?

i never used to sell books on ebay when I was on it before and have never even looked at amazon so don't know if they charge more - are more of a pain etc. Any feedback would be great. If anyone's got time that is.

Hi Sal (sazzab), welcome to our little gang. I like your idea of setting yourself a financial target to achieve. I might do that once I have got rid of the volume of stuff that is cluttering my house.

I sell on Amazon as do others on here. The fees are high but you know what you are going to get at the time of listing.I've never used eBay to sell books as there seemed to be so many on there. I also use greenmetropolis for the more popular books; you get £3 for each one when sold but then have to take your postage off that as well.

Anyway havign major laptop problems which means I can't access my Turbolister...I'm hoping that the techie board can help as my other option is to pay out for Dell specialists to help and as you all know I am carp at technical things lets alone trying to speak to somebody about the problems. If I am in a bettermood later then you'll know that the other board have sorted it out for me.

Still getiing lots of questions on two of my listings...one was 'what kind of condition is this item in if you have listed it for 99p?' - I had to point out that there is a reserve price and it is the cheapest way of doing it. Gggrrr got better things to do...

Wow Mrscmr, you must some really good stuff listed!!! I am sat here listing a pile of clothes. which is making me bag as most of it is new with tags or without & I have had in my wardrobe for ages... some stuff I listed a few days ago, have no bids, so I just feel a little dishearted.... however my hubbie, says its better to get 99p than nothing at all. I just feel gutted at all the wasted money..... oh well live & learn.
Some days I despair at all the clutter we have, oh will it get any better????

Thanks guys for keeping me going...

If there are bids on an item you cannot edit the listing, you can only add more text to the bottom of the listing so those in the know would see that he/she was fibbing

Most people would not even notice that a bid had been retracted anyway so I really wouldn't worry about it

It would not put me off bidding even if I did read that
Not been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/155
