There is a website called music magpie that you can sell CD's etc on. They give you an instant price for your items and refund you p&p. May not get as much as on ebay/amazon though, but is a bit faster.Too ashamed to admit how much I owe!!0

Hi Sar, agree that MM is quicker but your items have to be perfect and they don't offer you very much. With Amazon at least you can describe the item e.g. case needs replacing or lots of scratches but plays fine. And as most of my collection has been 'checked by the children', Amazon is the best place for me.

I have been stalking this thread for a while. I have been using Ebay for a while but it has been really hit and miss for a while. I have loads of books and cd's so i thought i would dabble with Amazon and was amazed how easy it is. I also like the bit where it gives you an option for how much to list. Wish i had done this ages ago as some of my DVD's are listed for a lot more than the 50p i was selling them for on Ebay. The only thing i cant get my head round is how to sell house items i.e. like a lamp or candle holder, there doesnt seem to be a function to give it your own name - any advice would be welcome.
Thanks a lot guys for your inspiration xx
Sorry I missed your post. If your item has a code on the back (like the books have ISBNs) then type it into Amazon to see if it is on there. Otherwise type in the make and type e.g.Sony MP3 and see if it comes up. If you can't find it or the price is too low, look at eBaying it. I don't think you can give it a name yourself although I think the big sellers can add things to Amazon that us mere mortals can't
HTH.

Thanks for your help. I've decided to leave the books for amazon, put the rest of the toys/clothes on ebay and then do the NCT sale next week of what doesn't sell. Our NCT take 1/3 but then I guess you have a target audience, they do all the selling and they are a good charity. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0

Hi Dustykitten, with the NCT, I love the way thats its relatively painless - much more so than ebay!! Also like helping the charity..
Im now up to 118 cds on Amazon - I think I have some more in the loft, but they can wait for another day now!:rotfl:
Completelylost, did you go with the BIN?0 -
What's NCT? :S
I haven't decided on whether to accept the £14 yet... I am tempted though. Considering I got it free, I'll never use it and it's taking up space... £14 is tempting.
I think I might write a couple of listings tonight, but won't upload until Sunday now.0 -

Welcome Dustykitten, no I'm terrible at sorting out my posting costs so I have lots of listings almost ready to go and I haven't worked out the postage!
In terms of books, check Amazon for prices. When you input what you want to sell for the system will tell you what you will get if it sells. You just have to take your actual postage off to get your profit.
For those buying, yes it can look expensive for postage but say you are buying a book for 1p and then £2.75 postage - the total price may not be expensive.
Good luck with your listings.

You can print off the Royal Mail postage guide which gives a list of prices for weights
