Its a bit like a black bin bag but thicker and more durable, for heavy duty waste. I didn't know until someone else recommended them either

    You're welcome Lexxx

I've used special delivery bags turned inside out before. I also go to a packaging firm and buy an enormous roll of brown paper for £12. It lasts me several years (ummm..thinking abut it, if I did more eBaying it wouldn't, would it? :rotfl:) I also get my padded envelopes, bubble wrap, boxes and brown tape from there. Seems to cost a small fortune at the time but it works out as pennies in the end. The only problem is storing it....so that's another pile I have.

Anyway, spent last night dealing with questions and my two non-payers. One has now pulled out. The other claims to be sending a PO this week. Most of my items now have bids on and I think they finish today so lots of wrapping.

Also sold two items on Amazon - a CD and a book. Must add more as I seem to do ok on Amazon.

Have friends over tomorrow so must get the living room eBay clear!

    Catch up later.

    Morning all!

Good day on eBay today, 12 items listed with 4 days to go and the bids are rolling in, yaay!

I always post my items in bright pink plastic mailing sacks - they're really nice and strong and they look jazzy when you take them to the post office. I get them from eBay for £2 for mixed lots of 25 - I always buy them from the same seller who is fantastically quick. The mixed sizes are good if you have different sized items selling.

If anyone wants the eBay ID of the mailing bag seller, just message me and I'll pass on the details.

I used to package mine with brown paper, but just found it took a lot longer. Also the mailing bags work well for me as I have a very hairy doggy whose hair ends up on anything, so once I've washed and ironed clothes I'm selling I get a liint roller on them, get the dog hair off and then they go straight into a mailing bag to remain hair free and to be sealed at a later date!

As I list weekly on 10 day listings my spare room is full of stuff (I can sympathise with your living room Floxxie!) so I put items in big paper bags bags depending on the date they finish - so there are currently 4 bags of clothes that are listed or scheduled and then the dreaded 'must eBay' bag of stuff to list.

Mrscmr and Jesarose - In terms of second hand clothes, I get quite a lot of my clothes from eBay - I find I can get almost new high street items for around £2-5. It cuts my clothes spending dramatically and once they've been wahed and ironed they're perfect :)

Also, I only really sell clothes on eBay and any branded high street stuff always tends to go really well! Also helps to clear my wardrobe out - did anyway see Gk's fashion fix last night? He did a 24 item capsule wardrobe!! I aspire towards this level of clothing organisation.....

    Happy eBaying y'all xxxx :T

OK i am doing my amazon research and now going through my book to see what i will be getting rid off.....

well i found this book on amazon only 2 people selling from the USA used but good condition for £88 & 89!!!

My book has never been read, so i guess that would be classed as new, also, i checked the book over and its been signed by the author.

I know its only worth what some one is willing to pay for it.... but ...um ...should i be getting excited:confused:

what would be a reasonable price to list it?

mrscmr i am an amazon virgin,:p but i do know anywhere is better than ebay for selling books.

I keep reading the amazon threads, getting frustrated, then decided to figure it out another time. Today i manage to start sorting the books, and looking on line.

By the end of this month, i will have some listed.

hopefully i can make some money of my books, I would love to make some double digit profits:T

Lexxx, if you take a look at abebooks.com that should give you an idea of what kind of prices people are selling the book for. American sellers tend to put on really high amounts especially if there aren't any other sellers but it doesn't mean that the book is rare or worth a huge amount (unless somebody does!)

At least with Amazon you can see what you are going to get for a sale and can then work out your postage to come off it.

mrscmr, I sell mainly text books and IT books (not mine, brothers) on Amazon. Some of mine are many years old and they eventually sell. I always put the option of posting to Europe as well as the exchange rate makes things cheaper for them.

greenmetropolis.com is a good one for common books.
