  • Hobby craft have some good bits in the sale, picked up the cutest little metal buckets, in all colours, and some Christmas ones with tree/star cut outs for 49p each! Ideal for little chocolates or bath bombs etc. when wrapped in cellophane they will look gorgeous! I also got a set of three Xmas ribbons fr £2.99!
    Exciteddddddd!
All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost.
  • This is my first time doing Xmas eve hampers. I'm at a total lost as what to get my friends little ones who are nearly 3, and 6 months. I thought something for the evening before would be great. I'm halfway through ideas from this thread and can't wait to get things going.

Thank you fabblackandwhite, I ordered using the code. One gift down!

  • does anyone shop at Lush? do they have any offers coming up as i want to do my sister a little lush hamper but it's quite expensive, we dont spend alot on eachother cos we spend on the kids instead :)
    Skint, but happy (ish):p

I used to buy lots from Lush (not anymore now I'm so skint lol)
but really the only major deals they ever seem to do are after Christmas when they sell off their Christmas stock. (If wrapped in clingfilm they can last a year but they have to be kept in very dry conditions).
However a good gift they do at Christmas is their secret santa box which is £5 (or has been the past 2/3 years) and usually has a bath bomb and a soap. Pretty good value but again better off going in store if there is one local as postage is quite steep.

    **********

I have almost finished this years hamper - Last year DH really didn't seem to appreciate it all that much  however he is much more interested in it this year as we will have a new baby by then (despite him only being about 3 weeks old!).

    So far I have

Radox bubble bath (£1 offer in Tesco)
Christmas book (brought from Amazon 2nd hand but was pretty bad condition so they refunded my money and told me to keep it so I have rubbered out the pencil marks etc and decided it would do!)
    mini marshmallows
a few DVD's (used valued opinions rewards)
    a penguin comforter (£1 from £land)
my 1st christmas teddy (20p carboot)
my 1st kissmas sleepsuit (20p carboot)
    2 christmas bibs (freecycle)
christmas eve yankee candle (£2.50 amazon using rewards)

I have ordered the trial of the hotel chocolat tasters club which i am going to seperate out into little bags and put some in our christmas eve hamper, some in our stockings and some in my mums hamper.

will also buy 2 scratch cards, hot chocolate, lager, diet coke & crisps.

    I think that's everything.

Last year I put in Christmas socks but they didn't get worn so i'm going to put them back in this year :rotfl:

as well as the 2 t shirts i brought last year my intention is to re use those every year so they will go back in too.

This year's and last year's hampers were very much adult based, I cannot wait until next years !!!!
Everything is always better after a cup of tea
  • Only had a quick skim over this thread but thought I would contribute. I have always done xmas eve hampers which my boys get on xmas eve morning. I like to have the majority of the big day prep done by then so xmas eve really is about working the kids up into and excitable frenzy! They usually get: new PJ's, and new xmas themed story book, some craft things (can vary from xmas cookie cutters to glitter pens), hot chocolate (snowman soup in this house) a new mug, a new xmas dvd, a little reminder (small laminated card *from Santa* I use each year) for them to track Santa online, a xmas bath bomb and some sweets/popcorn. This all comes in their xmas pillowcases. A couple of years ago I got 2 plain white pillowcases and some fabric pens. Each child decorated their pillowcase with their name and they each wrote the one gift they really really hoped Santa would bring, and the year. The pillowcases are placed at the end of their beds on xmas eve and that is what all their little stocking fillers go in. We love getting them out year after year and seeing how they have changed.

This year for their xmas eve craft I am thinking of doing a sharpie plate and mug for santa which the boys can decorate and we can use year after year!
    Just little old me!

we love having an xmas eve hamper, usually have it in the morning of xmas eve as we put acitivites in it.

Got a few things for it already. usually new pj's, slippers, snowman soup, new xmas story for bedtime story time.

love seeing all the xmas bits and bobs hitting the shops now, means i can pick up little bits weekly x
  • What a great idea! I've never even considered this before but think I might give it a go this year.

I've got two little ones aged 1.5 and 3 so I think it might just be appreciated - or at least extend the excitement!

    Poundland have some "mini boxes"

They come in various designs and are a bit bigger than a shoebox. The ones I spotted in the Grimsby store [and bought four of :o) are Disney Faries and they also had Cars too.

The measurements according to the wrapper are:

32cm (Length), 14cm (height) 23cm (width) and they're really colourful and gorgeous :)

this is it on amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Disney-Fairies-Mini-Storage-Box/dp/B005CAVLVK

And a link of it made up: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/customer-media/permalink/mo2L1B4NPIGKRIN/B005CAVLVK/ref=cm_ciu_images_pl_link

    and a cars 2 one:

I'm gutted! Both of these would be perfect for the little people hampers I'm making and I was in poundland today. I saw nothing like this. :(

If I go tomorrow I'm going to be hunting through the mess to find these!!
