Rather a lot of years ago when I was very small, my grandfather made a Giant Christmas Cracker made from cardboard and crepe paper, and a family tradition was started! On Christmas eve all of us get to chose a pressie each from the cracker, and then after Dinner every night until New Years Eve we do this.
The original cracker fell apart, and has been remodelled, but the tradition continues.. The pressies are very small, and some are homemade or very cheap - little sweets, the cracker fairy has even been known to put those little marmite portions, hot choccy sachets and shampoos etc you get in some hotels :D

The cracker fairy is very clever!! and should anyone be visiting the house when cracker is there, there shall be a pressie for them too!!

    :D

When mine were that age they love the Usbourne "that's not my" books the link shows you the snowman but they do a Santa and a Reindeer one too.

I can't wait for this xmas. We are alone as our family of five for the first time in years. Be so nice not to rush around cooking lunch and having time to spend with the kids.

Going to do lots of stuff on xmas eve we don't normally get time for. Lots of craft stuff and baking so can't wait.

I got the kids some lovely xmas cups from my local bargin shop that was closing down.
