  • Just curious. For me, the thing with the Icesave fiasco is that the FSA guarantee was kinda ambiguous, implying that the money was under double protection.

    Not ambiguous. On the FSA site, they had written that under the guarantee Iceland had taken out, Iceland paid the first £16,200 of a claim and the FSA topped up to 35k. It was changed just before the Icesave fiasco, of up to a limit of 50k.
