Courgette, and others perhaps, I have found a bit of info on ivillage that says you can work as self employed whilst on mat. leave, which would mean that its ok to continue my tutoring business and do ms (obviously when the baby is bigger!). I have to do my tax return etc as normal. I have also heard this from other sources too. Wish I knew where to check definitively though!!http://www.ivillage.co.uk/pregnancyandbaby/parent/workbaby/articles/0,,35_713011,00.html

Thanks EG. I still think it means I can't work though but you can as you were already working for someone else at week25 (yourself) but I wasn't so I can't start now. I didn't know about being able to work in the payment-free bit though, so that's helpful.

I'm gonna hang on and see what sort of baby I get, if it's fairly chilled out I might see about exam marking in January but just doing 10 day's worth. If it's a squarker there might not be anyone able to babysit!

Having an odd day! OH bought a new business asset a few weeks ago, and he is having a photo shoot today, so the house is full of models, make up artists and photography equipment. I think they are going 'on location' this afternoon so I will get my house back! Hoping to update the website and maybe do a newsletter etc before I go into hospital.

As many people have been saying, memory girls thread has been a great read, with lots of posters and loads of great ideas. I love the idea of breaking my mortgage debt into smaller chunks, and then I only have to raise £150 x 100 - This sounds infinately more doable within the year! note to self, make a house with 100 squares in it to colour in!

I also like the idea of doing something that scares you every day, but in my case I'd like to do something that scares me OR something that I keep putting off as the first activity every day. I've done it for a couple of days now and it feels great to get 'that thing' out of the way!!

Right going to go aand start a bit more decluttering and tidying until I get my house back! (Don't think it'll smell the same for a long time (buckets of aftershave and perfume!!)

Got my house back, models were nice and I accidently walked in on a male one changing, ooops total accident, he was in the dining room. He was fully dressed at that point though and just button fiddling thank goodness!!

My decluttering plan went slightly to pot as I started with period pain like cramps, so just rested, but absolutley fine now. OH is going to make me egg and chips for tea as I treat so I can rest, aww!

I have managed a quick look at the accounts now I've been paid and I managed to sneak another £1000 into overpayments, so £14,607.22 to find, with a small 100 buffer in my account, easy access savings of £1000, and oh on board for the rest of mat leave we should be fine!

Off to update sig and colour in my house!!
