Hello everybody!
I haven't looked at the threads on AQA in here for ages, and it looks as if things are much less fraught than they were a few months back, when there were loads of people moaning about the application procedure and trying to cheat their way into the company by swapping test answers.
At the time, I posted a slightly pompous comment on the importance of grammar, but it may still help, so here it is again! Hope it enables people to decide if AQA is right for them, and casts a little light on failed applications. Makes me cringe a bit to read it now, but the links are handy (assuming they all still work!).

I also found this super post below which looks at the AQA house style.

You need to think of yourself as a wise, witty, ever-helpful Auntie or Uncle AQA, if you see what I mean!
It's also worth trying the Texperts test - it will give you an idea if your comprehension skills are up to snuff. It'd be good if there was something similar on the AQA site - though I am sure this has been discussed, and there are valid reasons why this isn't seen as an useful preliminary recruitment filter. (*Waves to AQA management*). Here's the Texpert link:

You need to click on the Tex-Factor challenge thingy.
I was lucky enough to get into AQA on my first attempt. I think it may be because I really love summarising articles. When I was first introduced to the concept of synopsis at school, I utterly loved it. I can still remember how thrilled I was at the challenge of squishing a long article into a brief paragraph which covered all the key points. Sad, innit? However, if this rings a bell for you, AQA may suit.
Good luck to anyone thinking of applying. If you don't manage to get in, or decide it's not for you - good luck to you in your other money-saving efforts.

I was rejected as well, which I what I expected - lol. Is there any similar services to AQA that recruit people (even if they are not currently recruiting?).0

There is Textperts, im not sure of thier website address off-hand, but its on here somewhere, you do thier test online, so have a go at it, (ps i failed it as well as AQA!!!) its a multiple choice thing, then at the end u read a passage and answer some questions,
Good luck,0 -
Can I ask, how do you get paid? are you a direct employee or is it on a self employed basis. I emailed my application back yesterday although I am not hopeful as some of the questions were really difficult.
Providing it's over £20, your month's earnings are paid directly into your bank account.
You're technically self-employed.0 -
Hi
Just looked on the AQA site - they have opened the applications to the UK again, think I might give it a go. Can any of the lucky few who has got through tell me how much they pay - is it per text answered?
Thanks in advancethis comment is currently under construction0 -

Any Question Answered! people (maybe at pub quizzes, out on the town, having heated debates, whatever the case may be) text them in questions, and they text back the answer!0 -
Quick silly questions for those who have filled this in before. I'm in the process of completing my application and i notice that on the employment section there is only room to put in 2 previous employers 9plus the sheet seems to be protected as I can't seem to add anymore in). Sot he question is should I just put in my two most recent employers or the two which I'll be using for references? As others have said, I'm not too keen on using a reference from my current employer as I don't really want them to know what I plan to do in my spare time...2024 Total so far: £0.00
