Full of unpleasant Daily Mail types.
It was the Mail that was right about Iceland. And all it got here on MSE were accusations of scaremongering on the basis that the Icelandic banks didn't advertise.
[They didn't need to because MSE & loads of other sites did it for them.]
  • Unfortunately my daughter - psychology student and icesaver - isn't doing her dissertation until next year - this board would be a great research tool!

She put her student loan into icesave last week - guess who's having to bail her out and I am also an icesaver but a relieved one.

People that can't make decisions for themselves, follow the herd and then blame everyone else when things go wrong have filled this forum up over the past few days.

I've never seen such vicious and reprehensible comments and posts ever, many directly targeted at many of us as well as Martin - people hiding behind the anonymity of a computer, wouldn't dare say such things in real life.

I agree! I stated as much (though somewhat less eloquently put :o) on another thread this morning!

The amount of new users signing up (to Martin's site!) with 'anti-Martin' user-names is unbelievable! Everyone wants to blame someone, as long as it's not them. God forbid that they might look at themselves and realise that at least some of the blame SHOULD be apportioned to them; that they had a choice where to invest their money, and that if they had actually READ anything on this site, they would have seen the message (repeated ad nauseum) that nothing here constitutes financial advice. No product or service is actively promoted or recommended – the choice is yours.

MSE has been and continues to be an absolute God-send to people; it has helped people understand and manage debts, the statute barred rule, mortgages, IVAs, bankruptcy, benefit entitlements etc... It has given people knowledge and empowered them to change their financial affairs, and yet, at the first sign of trouble, people throw all this back in Martin's face, and blame him?! How bloody ungrateful!

    GRRRRRRRRRRRRR! Rant over!

Well that's flushed some of 'em out hasn't it !

    LOL

Utterly thrilled to be considered so subversive that I need flushing out by one of the Silent Majority!

By the way, with your stoical Silentness, how do you identify each other? Is there a handshake. Do you flash your tax returns? I suppose there is a clue in your Common Senseness when under stress. Sorry, I forgot, of course there is your Whiteness which narrows it down a little bit ....

Im sure I saw either the daily mail or express have an article on the Iceland bank fiasco, and place a picture of Sarah Harding in underwear. . Apparently the tenious link is that an Iceland bank bought up a high street shop which sells underwear which has been modelled by someone in Girls Aloud . .

Great we can stick a picture of Sarah Harding next to the article then .. .

    hmm

(made me read it anyway . . )

Why would you think that you are being considered as so, just curious and confused

Speaking of newspapers, had the Daily Express managed to go through the credit crunch without any articles to Princess Diana?

Fraid not. They are today reporting that sarah palin is a distant relative of diana! (10th cousin)

Well, Stavros I took this, straight after my post, in response to GeorgeHowell's as being sort of significant:

    LOL>

I assumed there was some sort of sequential posting going on but I'm quite prepared to be pulled up as being a bit arrogant in considering that George considers me one of, as he says, 'em! Maybe others, are in fact the 'em and I am not included in the great 'emness.

Perhaps George would like to confirm or otherwise my inclusion in his comment on the great 'em flushing?

I must say, I'd be a bit disappointed not to be included..... I appreciate I may not be the only 'em but I really would like to be in the greater 'em and the whole flushing out thing was very exciting.
