I bought these the other day on a BIN at about £7. But they ended at £2-odd, so that's what I paid.

Anyone else been scammed by these because they don't like you winning for £1 when the item is valued higher.

I won a couple at £1 (different items) yet they tried to say payment has been declined, there is nothing wrong with payment details entered, spoken to CC company and they say there is no block on the card and that Bid.TV haven't even tried to take a payment.

Seems they are weaselling out of the auction.

Will have to phone back again in the morning see what Bid.TV have to say then, as my statement just shows as they tried to cancel the despatch or such like as the order had gone through, doesn't mention funds were declined, but says fund have been paid back into my account and P&P refunded, nothing listing what I have won.

Problem is they say they only keep hold of the item for 24 hours, well before their phones open in the morning the 24 hours will be up.

  • When I bought the necklace a while back, my card was initially turned down. I phoned them and sorted it out.

Thing is they sent an email saying it was declined, however CC company said they hadn't even tried to take payment.

Could only phone them initially and then they said they'll look into it, by the time I was home and could do anything about it again, it was past 21:00, so unable to call in and they don't open until 09:00 about 2 hours after they email says they will keep the item for.

  • I assume if I bought 2 different items at £1 each I'd have to pay 2 lots of postage. Is that correct? If so somethings just aren't the bargains they seem although I guess some are.

Yeah, you have to pay 2 lots of P&P.

Only a very tiny minority of items on these channels are bargains.

Nearly all the items sold sell for a lot more than you can get elsewhere.

Have to say in their defence, I've bought quite a few things from them over the years, and have always been very happy with them. Also, this £1 bargain stuff isn't a new thing, the whole idea of these channels is that the price keeps dropping until they sell. If you check the clearance bargains on their website, there are often items for a couple of pounds plus postage. I've had some really brilliant purchases for silly prices. (Am now waiting for my cancellation email lol!)
  • I missed out of this offer but have bid on a saucepan set in a TV sale on price drop TV. The sale was supposed to finish at 01.29 this morning but as far as I can tell the sale is still going and it is still possible to make bids. How does it work?
