I am totally confused, I take it that link you posted Foofighter is not you that posted it, so why did so many people PM that person?? I think it's a really wonderful thing that you have done and I hope this can be resolved. Perhaps it's to stop a person who has only joined to get this from entering I don't know.

I do know that yesterday through the kindness of Bellaluna I was given two tickets to see Dirty Dancing and had a fantastic time, it was an opportunity to experience to see something I couldn't have afforded otherwise - surely that's very MSE??

Does this mean we can no longer offer our prizes/tickets if we can't use them? That would be so sad if that was the case as I know if I win anything that I can't use I would like to pass it on if T&C's of the comp allow.

foo fighter....I think its awful that this has happened ...can I make a suggestion that the prize goes to someone that has contributed to a posting a great number of comps on here... I know its bad on some that have just joined but think it might help
(I am not saying this for myself as I am unable to go on holiday at the moment......before I get shouted down)

No it wasn't me, i guess whoever it was just thought he/she should let everyone on that board know about my giveaway.. can't blame him/her really because everyone loves a freebie! :rolleyes: Maybe I should have stated in the first place 'must have minumum of ... posts/thanks' something like that? I just didn't think and wanted to spread some joy and give someone a great prize.

I know on the quack quack site they have a special section for User2User comps/giveaways, i have been a member there for years but rarely post so posting here was my first instinct.

Looks like I am going to have to make some sort of decision either way pretty soon, no word from abuse I'm guessing they are pretty busy.

Yes its true there were a lot of newly registered people who sent pms and some even offering me money (which i would never in a million years accepted, and im afraid these people did not go into my hat) These things do bring out the lurkers and I knew that, but there were also lots and lots of msers.

Hoping to here back from abuse quite quickly, if only to jot down the names from the thread as i think thats where so many people posted as my inbox was overflowing

I must be naive as I didnt realise there were people out there reading our posts on here and replicating them on other forums. Why the hell do they do that? Why not just join this forum?

Hope this prize eventually does go to a genuine mser (I didnt ask to go into the hat either by the way)

If abuse don't get back to you maybe you could just use the names you have already been pm'd? I know that some of us would miss out, but I think we would all understand. A least an MSE'r would still benefit. Hopefully the thread will be restored though.

what about if you look through the names you have already and use those and also any others you have found out about today perhaps and just include those who you can see from the thanks originally entered the competition in the first place. That way it should go to someone who really wanted the prize in the first place and was just not lucky enough to win it in the first instance?
