Any advice on this one? I "closed" my icesave account on Monday morning, it said successfully processed. I can't log into icesave, so my icesave computer account seems to have been closed. But neither have I received my money (4 days later). In my haste I forgot to printout the balance...:embarasse
 I'm wondering if I have to make a claim will my final balance still be on their database?0 -
Have just spoken to Icesave. Like many others, I've closed my account, so can't access the closed account, so wasn't sure what had happened to the money in limbo. Today they've done a search for all of us that had closed their accounts and re-attributed it to the accounts from where the funds had come. So tomorrow we should be able to log on and view our accounts. If you can't, you can ring up and request a password reset to enable you to view your account.0

How have icesave done this? It seems as though they have clawed back peoples own money that had already left their icesave account and was in BACS transit to their personal current account. This does not exactly instill confidence in the BACS system does it?
Understand it to be standard BACS recall facility. You get until something-like 2pm the following day to clawback the funds. Not sure how they have avoided the CHAPS transfers. Maybe they never processed them in the first place?
So close, yet so far.0 -
I once wrote a program to make a BACS file at work, not that much to it really :D
I could of slipped some code in to transfer all the money into my account, but I didn't - honest :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
"FUNDS" NOW SHOWING IN ICESAVE ACCOUNT - MR COMPUTER GUY HAS CLEARLY BEEN BUSY THIS MORNING. SUGGEST OTHER PEOPLE CHECK OUT THEIRS TOO. IF YOUR ACCOUNT IS LOCKED THE ONLINE PASSWORD CHANGE FACILITY DOES WORK TO UNLOCK IT.
PHEW...........I HAVE EVIDENCE OF FUNDS AMOUNT AGAIN.Have just spoken to Icesave. I did the "reset password" thing, logged in and to my horror my account shows ZERO even though the final transfer amount has not made it to my nominated account. Worse, the statement shows no transactions at all - as if I'd just opened it !!!! Not sure if the FSCS will now have any evidence that I have/had an account (with money) at time of defaulting in order to trigger a compensation letter....
This is really SHIITE !!!!

UPDATE: Managed to get through to Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) and the nice calm lady confirmed that many people had rang up with the same problem some of us are now facing (i.e. transfer in limboland and zero balance on icesave) .
But she assured me that the form FSCS will send out allows customers to explain their situation in detail and provide the best evidence they can of their pre-closure icesave balance.

I've just reset my password and to my relief the balance is showing as it was before I requested the closure of the account, though it doesn't show any other transactions and has it as an opening balance, which might make it difficult to claim for the interest due between May (last interest payment date) to yesterday. When I spoke to Icesave last night, the person I spoke to said she'd "refreshed" my account, so that it would update today. If you don't want to ring (to avoid the queue), it might just be a case of waiting a day so that their system "refreshes" your account.0 -

Yeah, sorry to have worried anyone - my icesave account DOES now show a balance at 10:00 am Friday 10th (two hours after my first attempt when it didn't) so I expect everyone's will get sorted out....0 -
As icesave were technically still a functioning organisation until being taken into receivership, the reversing of these funds is surely illegal if it was done for any reason other than fraud?
Spare a thought to those in holland and time to cheer our own government for once. As i understand it their online icesave savings are not being guaranteed by their government and their only recourse is to get funds from the iceland scheme/government, who have about as much integrity as a sponge pudding.0 -
Agreed, my account is now live again.
I had to do the password reset to get back in, but you can set it to the old one.
It shows as though the account was opened yesterday with all intrest due added to the balance.
So we are now in the same boat as those who did not even try and move their money out!0
