ok folks.just got off the phone with ice save. this is what i was told. firstly as i said before i did a chaps on monday night so should have been in my account yesterday. ice save told me that all withdrawls have been stopped and sent back.she said ppl were ringing saying transfers they had done on friday have not gone through so they believe any payment done on/after friday has been stopped as monday is the next working day and thats when everything was shut down.
she said the money should re appear in your accounts within 3-4 working days as it takes time to be rejected and sent back through the system. so for me im looking at maybe friday. as i said that was my concern as your money seems to be in limbo neither in you icesave account or your bank.so i advise everyone to keep checking their accounts 3-4 days after they made the payment request and hopefully it will show back in your account0 -

Good news, but I don't trust a word that anyone linked to Icesave has to say. I think so long as we have statements proving we had the money and tried to withdraw but haven't received into the linked account, we will be ok with the compensation.0 -
I did a BACS request on Friday night, sitting processing over the weekend as expect and processed 1st thing Monday. No sign of money but then I would expect it maybe tonight after midnight. By the sounds of it I didn't get out in time either.0

yes id defo advice to make copies of your statements and you can always get copies from your bank or a letter if need be showing that the money never transfered.but ill feel so much better when i can see the money in my account.its kinda scary that its in think air at the mo.
unfortunatly the customer service lady i spoke to said iceland had told them nothing and we basically knew as much as them (my words) but i think some ppl have said in other threads that chaps were going through till about sunday. i guess its the bacs that stopped after friday as obviously it takes alot longer. i guess she was just repeating the process as to what happenes when a transfer is declined.ie it takes 3-4 days to appear back in your account.so al lwe can is keep checking ans see what happens0 -
ok...so a lot of us are in the same boat. I did CHAPS at the crack of dawn on Tuesday and got the "proceesed" message in my account.
I guess we know it isn't coming into our bank accounts but I've not seen it re-appear in the icesave account yet.
It would be good if people could post when they see money re-surface in their icesave account.
Hopefully the government will explain later how we can get our hands on our money.
Good way for Gordon Brown to buy 300,000 votes, huh?0 -
Luckily for me, I withdrew £3,500 last Wednesday which hit my account on Monday. Sadly though, that wasn't all of it.
I requested a transfer out of the remaining balance on Monday evening and don't know if that money is going to arrive tomorrow/Friday. Trouble is because I effectively closed my account, I can't login to Icesave anymore so can't print out any statements
I hope the money doesn't just end up in some sort of limbo :eek:0 -
3-4 working days i have just been told. will post and let ppl know if its in. i did the transfer monday nightguess we know it isn't coming into our bank accounts but I've not seen it re-appear in the icesave account yet.

I wouldn't worry about our money being in limbo. I also doubt very much it will reappear in our Icesave accounts. The Icelandic government will have stolen it from the clearing account to help fund the savings of their own citizens. We have the proof, and BACS/CHAPS transfers have guarantees and it will hopefully all be sorted with the compensation claim. I have such a headache from worrying over the last few days that I think I will have to stop now that Darling has stepped in.0
