I just spoke to someone at Icesave - she said (unsuprisingly) that all this talk of holding accounts and reversals is 'media speculation' and it should take 4 working days to process my transfer (done on Sat morning), therefore the money should be in my bank account tomorrow. She then said 'but if it isn't, then it will probably have been reversed and will come back to your Icesave account'.
Well, that was most helpful. :-(0

but what if the comp scheme doesnt come intot effect. say for eg icesave/landsbanki keeps running as it is and they open our accounts again so we can gain excess and everyone empties their accounts yet the amount we transfered is still in thin air.
i wish they would say one way or the other. announce the comp scheme so we can do it ASAP or let us access out accounts0

well i was told all transfers from friday were stopped and the money will be sent back to your account with 2-4 working days. many ppl who did chaps so should have got the money the same or the next day have not had their money sent so IMO theres no way bacs will go through0

I know it's worrying, but Darling has said no Icesave depositor will lose money as a result of it going bust, and now he has said that I think we have to try to stop worrying. I have made myself ill over this whole thing, quite literally too. It would be nice to get all the fine points of clarification like what interest is compensated if any, what happens to money in transit, what happens with ISA tax free status, etc, but I doubt this will come for quite some time to be honest.0

Hopefully the government will explain later how we can get our hands on our money.
Speculation: I would imagine the government would take over the website and allow people to withdraw money as normal, but stop them from paying anything in. Then wind down the interest rate to encourage people to move. I don't think they can shut the website without sending people a full statement of their transactions (because they might need such for tax purposes among other things, but when the site has gone they can't print this off).
I've had an interest credit this morning on my Icesave account, so that part's evidently operating as normal.0

            Hi folks...
I did a small BACS transfer from my Icesave account on Saturday 4th night... shows processed on 6th.
I then did a big CHAPS on Monday 6th, early morning, which only showed processed on 7th.
Neither have appeared in my Natwest account. I assume it is floating around somewhere over the Faroe Islands as I type this...
I also did a small BACS from my FirstSave account at the same time as the first Icesave BACS - this showed up this morning in my account.
More worryingly, I did a major CHAPS transfer from my Kaupthing Edge account on Tuesday 7th morning - nothing in the Natwest last night.. or this morning.
Spoke to KE customer service this morning to be told, "we were having a bit of trouble clearing... all CHAPS transactions made over the past two days will be in you account today at the latest."
 I wait with bated breath...0

 Geachte klant,

In the good old days we'd have sent a few Royal Navy destroyers to liberate our savings and burn Rekyjavik.
Come on guys, the population's tiny. We can beat them!:j
(I tried to get my savings out late on Sunday night. Their server kept crashing. I eventually got right through to the final screen to close my account but when I pressed confirm the server crashed again. Since then it won't let me log in to my account. So I have no idea what the status of my account is.)0

I did a Bacs transfer on Friday evening at 11pm - nothing showing on my account as at the moment.
I dont see people losing their money in the long run - there was an Icelandic governemnt guarantee protecting the deposits. I cant see they can wriggle out of this in the long term.
The only real concern in my view is the loss of interest on the money from now until it does actually turn-up0
