Just been reading all the back pages since I logged off yesterday... appears to me Oblivion (you know ... the fat cat one) who posts his savings portfolio, who used to work in the finance sector all his life, "could" have made that portfolio from "those overpaid bankers bonuses, and bankers taking unneccessary risks", that " everyone seems to be blaming part of this crisis on??

You could not be more wrong madam. Such judgemental inaccuracies are very unworthy of you.

A BACS from the 7th and one from the 10th came through Friday. I'm still missing a CHAPS from the 9th though. Oddly enough the two BACS came through as CHAPS but it's the CHAPS that's missing........

At least there's some progress though. Fingers crossed for tomorrow!

Similar to me, a BACS from the 6th and 9th arrived but CHAPS from the 8th is missing.
Have decided to put my money (when I get it) into premium bonds. My friend did this recently with her tax money (she's self employed) and got a 10% return! I know it's not guaranteed you'll get any return but at least the money is safe and I might have a bit of fun if I win every now and again.
Saving with Icesave and KE has certainly not been fun!

Afternoon - barge boards all painted.

Very little new info coming my way now but this where we are:
£3,564,956 still in the ether from 115 transfers. 110 CHAPS (2 whose value I don't know) and 5 BACS.

The value of the transfers varies hugely, no pattern there.

14 banks identified as link - no pattern there.

96% of transfers reported to me as not arrived are CHAPS - ah!ha!, a pattern

Will only update if I get new information remember PM or email lovelife42@hotmail.co.uk

Actually I'm a bit concerned now. It does look like CHAPS payments from 6/7/8 October are the ones that have gone a bit pear shaped. I know the ING deal was anounced on October 8th, but the cut off as far as the balance sheet was concerned could have been sometime later, maybe even the 9th and it seems possible to me now that, somehow, a group of CHAPS immediately prior to that might have been missed.

This has always been my issue with INGs lame blanket assurances that "all payments have been made", which has been given with zero regard to any account specific feedback, so they/we so far have no way of knowing if their definition of "all" actually includes every single transaction that was made on peoples' accounts leading up to the demise of KE. I truly hope that there was some element of professionalism/due diligence when the acquisiton was completed and that they have picked up all outstanding transactions i.e where our KE account balances have gone down but our linked accounts have not gone up but there's a nagging doubt now in my mind since the missing payments are all CHAPS and closely grouped in terms of dates.

We'll get it back eventually but I'm not really relying on it turning up tomorrow and it might be a question of faxing statements and blah blah blah.

I'm really not trying to scare anyone but it just seems like the longer it goes with nothing turning up in my account, the harder the fight is going to be to get it back. I know that nothing will turn up before tomorrow anyway but it's been a long weekened in some respects........

I'd love to be proved wrong tomorrow but I'm protecting my own sanity at this point by assuming that it won't be that straightforward.

UPDATE: SUNDAY 19TH OCTOBER, 16.45PM

PAYMENT UPDATE
As confirmed in our update last Tuesday we have now been able to clear over 95% of the outstanding payments. The vast majority of these appeared in the destination bank account on Friday, but we are aware that some were unable to be processed by the receiving bank and these will appear on Monday.
We also confirmed that there was a small group of payments that would take longer to process. ING Direct continues to work with the Administrators of Kaupthing Edge to clear this remaining 5% of payments as quickly as possible. We have identified the affected customers and will contact them directly with further information.
We are working hard to resolve this issue and do understand how frustrating it is for those customers who are still awaiting payments.

You told me, first thing this morning that my theory was flawed. It’s taken you all day to arrive right back at square one, priceless.

ING assumed the CHAPS transactions had cleared.

Thank you

I wonder if they can get anything right. Don’t they know the last update was yesterday, not Tuesday?

5% = 8000 people

I look forward to my email.

Looks like ING are finally aware of the Chaps requests. Bet it's come as a surprise!!! Now they need to speak to the administrators tends to confirm the money never left KE.

I'm preparing for a longer battle. Don't think we'll see funds tomorrow
CHAPS 8th received 20th into HSBC A/C
BACS on the 17th and 20th received 22nd into HSBC A/C
CHAPS fee refunded 29/10
I can survive any crisis - I have kids!!
