Interesting, up until now I'd tended to believe hsbc, prehaps no more. Did your info come from the automated transaction report option or speaking to a human?

A human, I rang them 3 or 4 times throughout the day and each time spoke to customer services. Got the same response each time, nothing showing. Nearly fell off my chair when it appeared.
  • I really think all the stuff about timing of transfers is just idle speculation. The fact is, any transfer that did not leave KE before ING took over will still be a liability on the balance sheet of KE and, as such will have been included in the deal, whether or not it was sitting in an individual's account at the time.

These transactions that were in this unprocessed holding account could well be the ones that need some sort of manual intervention, who knows?

ING really need to get themselves into a position where they can tell each individual some specifics about where their money is. They have failed to do that so far and that's the biggest part of the problem.

I agree with all of the above....

The truth is, the majority of opinions expressed on this thread are pure speculation. Some theories may be closer to the truth than others, but it's all speculation nonetheless. Because the fact of the matter is, we just do not know what is happening and what the true situation is (due to ING's lack of transparency).

As none of us are in a position to change the situation over the weekend, the only constructive thing we can do right now is make sure as many people stuck in this situation as possible give the relevant details to tmvc2007 for collation. There must be more than 105 of us out there...
And not just on this forum, what about other similar forums?
If anybody frequents those perhaps it would be an idea to raise awareness of what we're doing here on those so we can make sure we're getting a true reflection of the magnitude of the situation and sums of money involved.

  • I sent the folowing query to KE/ING yesterday morning when when I confirmation of my BACS transfer had been deposited to my linked account - No reply as yet

    Hi

I have a substantial ammount of savings held in a KE/ING account. Could you please advise when this account will be fully functionable. eg, If I request a CHAPS transfer of some funds on Monday 20th October am, Do I have a guarantee that I will receive these funds as per usual CHAPS transfer procedure of same day to my linked account?

Your speedy response would be apreciated

    Thanks and Regards

  • We know from previous posts that ING Direct are aware of, and probably monitoring this forum.

We also have to assume that not all the employees are as ethically bankrupt as their employers, and feel at least some sympathy and compassion for the position that many of us find ourselves in.

So, if any of you are reading this, why don't you search your consciences and let us know the real view from within ING Direct?

It's highly likely that some of the posts here are not legitimate, but plants from ING management trying to calm the waters.

Do some soul-searching and give us the facts.

Unfortunately I think the majority of people within ING themselves don't know what the true facts are. And aren't in a position to know unless they trace an individual transaction (which so far they have been unwilling to do).

Well, at least we can rule out oblivion. He certainly did nothing to calm the waters, all he did was upset everyone.

Everyone was already upset and over-reacting. All I did was spell out a few home truths which turned out to be unpalatable for those who don't want the truth but just seek a 'comfort blanket' within the herd mentality.

I am quite sure you will all be reunited with your cash in the coming week ... just stop blaming the hard-working people who are trying to sort out this major catastrophe ( not witnessed before in most of your life-times) on your behalf. As I said previously "don't bite the hand that feeds you".

So who is feeding this "herd" exactly - Dave no mates????

Certainly not KE/ING thats for sure!!!!

    PS,

Sure I did put this point to you before...............Was it before you sidestepped the income tax question in reference to an earlier rant!!

However, no one is blaming the "hard working people" All the "herd" are looking for is total transparency of what is actually happening with their money!!!

Why are you not out entertaining your abundance of friends (associates) that you claim to have anyway D***Head ??????
