To all the people in this thread who are now knocking ING, would you please get a grip on the real world?
ING were, at very short notice, saddled with the mayhem that resulted from the Icelandic collapse. Even in the best of worlds, taking over another company's records and making sense of them is an uphill task ... but ING are trying to do this in the worst of all possible worlds.
I take my hat off to them for having achieved so much in such a short time span.
I do understand that those who are still awaiting their cash are frustrated, but that is no excuse for taking it out on a company who has inherited a nightmare.
Cut them some slack people. And no, I have no vested interests in ING ... I'm just very appreciative of a company that is doing their very best in a very difficult situation.
Dave.
Hi, I understand where you are coming from but I personally don't think they (ING) have performed as well as they could as they have kept customers in the dark and have given definite deadlines and then changed them at the last minute. I had all my savings with KE and Icesave and I need the money to complete on a house next week.
I used to bank with ING Direct and I did always find them very helpful in the past but it does not excuse the fact that they are not making things easy right now.
They may indeed have taken on a nightmare as you say but clear, concise and accurate messages and updates would have gone a long way to alleviate peoples concerns about where their money is, regardless of whether they had a little or a lot saved.Rachel

That having been said, I have said a number of times that I appreciate the work they've done - the only problem I have is with their apparent decision to prioritise BACS at the expense of CHAPS which really seems a bizzare thing to do.CHAPS to Natwest: sent 9/10, RECEIVED 22/10 at 16.350 -
F*** this. Being prudent and sensible is too much like hard work. If I ever get this cash back I'm off to the Ferrari dealer.......
As there seems to be no shame in debt anymore I'm off to take all I can.0 -
5.05pm................NOT THERE..........
Another weekend of worrying.
Has anyone got a theory on how they are deciding who gets there money and who has to wait, I have not shut my account, I made a CHAPS payment on the 7th - still waiting, but it looks people who made transfers after this are getting their money. Do you think ING have not found "the black hole/ether" that my savings were in???0 -
isnt the saving section of B&B owned by a spanish bank, just checking.
I too dont know where to put my money
Yes, Santander own B+B now, same people who own Abbey.
Personally mine is going into C+G, part of LTSB and hopefully more stable.
It's pretty annoying that people who BACS out after CHAPS payments got their money first, if ING can't prioritise by date, then I'll never save with them (I never would, think they are a rubbish company).0 -
I am happy for all those getting there money - just want mine!!!0

Still waiting here..chaps...0

They never did say everybody. They have always said majority.
Oh yes they did ..
UPDATE: TUESDAY 14TH OCTOBER, 16.00PM
PAYMENT UPDATE
We have been working hard to restore normal service for Kaupthing Edge customers and resolve the issues around delayed payments.
In addition to the payments already made, we are now able to confirm that all payments will arrive in their destination bank account by close of business Friday 17 October. There are a very small number of manual payment instructions which are still being processed and which will take slightly longer.
Once again we apologise for the inconvenience and distress this delay has caused. It has taken us longer to resolve the issues at Kaupthing Edge than we expected due to the significant disruption caused when the business was taken into administration. Understandably, customers have been asking for clarification on when this issue was going to be resolved, but this is the first time we have been in the position to give firm assurances.
Thank you for your patience and we can confirm that customers will not lose interest as a result of this delay.0 -

I DONT THINK IT'S US THAT NEED TO GET A GRIP OF THE REAL WORLD.
Here we are yet again, cast iron 100% promises in writing, email, telephone calls etc......Don't worry, your money is safe and is guaraneed to be with you before 17:00 on Friday.
Guess what.......NOT A PENNY!
A bank is just another money making machine just the same as rip off Credit Cards, 29.9% APR loan sharks, Parking Tickets, Congestion Charges etc.etc.
We are a name and number. In reality, they couldn't give a damn about you.
The didn't just inherit a nigtmare, they also inherited £2.5bn of UK Treasury/Tax Payers money and a very nice databases of over 200,000 people to make money out of.
I will NEVER ever use ING after this nightmare.
ANOTHER WEEKEND OF UNCERTAINTY. THANKS ING. GREAT SERVICE :mad:0 -
Everyone worried about their money, just spare a thought for Seve Ballesteros, I bet he’d swap with any one of us.0
