So... You pay extra for the transfer and get put at end of the queue????

It does seem bizarre that they seem to be giving preference to BACS over CHAPS , doesn't it ?

Advice confirms means that it is a CHAPS transfer. Nice one on getting your dosh !

Mine said advice confirms too. I didn't pay for a CHAPS. No interest showing up but not bothered as it is not that huge an amount, just happy to see my dosh again. Will be taking it out of HSBC asap, this is my Xmas spending money so I reckon it is time to hit the shops.
  • Still nothing in my A&L Account. CHAPS transfer of 10k out on Tuesday 6th 9am.

I did CHAPS to get it out quickly and forfeited the £20. Looks like I should have done a free BACS transfer as they all seem to be getting their money over ours. Wonder if they will refund the CHAPS payment considering it was paid to expect the money to be transferred in 2 hours not 11 DAYS.

    *Annoyed*
  • Congratulations to everyone who's had their money. Good luck to those of us who're still waiting for all, most, or some of our money. Hang in there, it'll not be too long before we're leaping around in delight.
CHAPS to Natwest: sent 9/10, RECEIVED 22/10 at 16.35
  • Mine has come through into my Natwest.

It was a BACS initiated on Tuesday 7th October via the Kaupthing callcenter.

I'd just like to say that I think Kaupthing was a good bank before this crisis - in terms of customer service and ease of use - whilst it was around and it is a shame that it had to come to this.

Yeah very weird, as long as they credit us back with the £20 CHAPS fee and we get our money today, then I'll be happy.

(What are the chances of that!)

I saw someone in a previous post told 5 p.m so still hope!

Yes 5pm is close of business for most banks to receive money for that day, but can vary. Keep looking. I received my 2x £35k, 30 minutes ago in Barclays and was not confident 1 hour ago.
