Excust me but have any Halifax customers received payment yet? On reading that BACS requests are coming thru for some as CHAPS I have checked with Halifax coz I know that some of the former building societies dont use your regular account details for CHAPS receipts. Halifax state that usual sort code/account number work with them so that isnt the reason for funds not crediting my account yet.

It sounds like the actual payment method used by ING may not correspond to the requested payment method, i.e. some BACS requests have arrived by CHAPS (at least they did last week), and some CHAPS request may have arrived by BACS.

Therefore, what would be interesting to know is whether all the payments received today have arrived via BACS? So, ignoring the requested payment method, can people who have been paid so far today tell from their accounts whether there have been any that have arrived via CHAPS?

I am waiting on a tranfer into Halifax also - no joy yet (BACS sent 7/10).
I rang Halifax just and they could not see anything pending for me. I spoke to Rachel at ING this morning and she said the longer, manual transactions are for people who arranged their transfers by phone (not online). Not me - I am glad to say - but why am I still filled with dread????

just phoned hsbc again, no sign of any amount from ING but, as ever, check back as continually updated. Asked if a BACS could still come in today, he said definitely. I checked he didn't mean CHAPS and he said a BACS can definitely still come in today. Just thought you might like to know, not much, I know.
