I couldn’t possibly tell you that, I don’t want to fill the thread with rubbish.:rotfl:

Can I take a guess? I like a challenge. Do you type it into a word document where you can adjust the orientation of a text then copy and paste it?

thanks zaphod, will be looking at these closely when the dust settles - 6% is more than good enough for me! are Birmingham Midshires pretty safe in your eyes? i've not been paying enough attention again.

I think Birmingham Midshires are part of HBOS group. However I'm opening an account with them this week too.

Just rung HSBC no sign of money transfer in pipeline for me tomorrow icon8.gif.
    CHAPS 8/10/08 8.30am.
Hopefully ING will CHAPS the payments tomorrow! Wishful thinking I guess!
    CHAPS 8th received 20th into HSBC A/C
BACS on the 17th and 20th received 22nd into HSBC A/C
    CHAPS fee refunded 29/10
I can survive any crisis - I have kids!!

Anybody who transferred by telephone are the ones that they are treating as manual transactions and will take a while longer. He said all interest lost will be refunded and CHAPS payments returned.

Shithouse. I did mine via telephone because my internet account was locked at the time. I have just phoned ING to check into what timescale I am looking at for my 'manual payment' and they don't have a timescale for this - but he did say it might just go through tomorrow along with the other ones.

In short, I don't have a firm timescale for my transaction

Copes from another contributor at 4.44pm today.

Not been spoken for a while but read posts every day
Spoke to a very nice man in Customer Relations in ING today who said there are 26000 transactions to go through and they will be sent tomorrow by CHAPS, he assures me that the CHAPS system will be able to cope!!!

    unquote.

If this is correct cannot understand how banks like HSBC can tell customers today of the impending credit for Friday. I can see some people panicking if when they check their account first thing no credit is shown only to arrive later in the day by chaps.
