Add me to the list - I took my money out on Monday and still haven't got it. £11,000 that was due to pay down my mortgage in November!

Does anyone know how the BACS system works, it also a manual process where they're going to have a backlog, or should it all be automated and always go through in 3 working days?

My BACS transaction went through Sunday night, so assuming it was actioned Monday morning, the 3 working days should be today but obviously no sign yet. If its a manual process then Im not too concerned, if its fully automated though then I would have thought if it was on its way, it should at least show as a pending transaction in my target bank account by this morning.

The longer this goes on, the more Im expecting the money to appear back in my Kaupthing account rather than in my bank account. Until I hear any confirmation to the contrary, Im fairly comfortable that it isn't going to disappear into the ether though.

Dear all, I have put a list together so that we can inform each other better and we all will work together. If the list is causing concerns to grow then I will take down the list. This is for us to work together and take action together when the going gets tough. I have money in KE which is between transaction. Lets wait and see how this works out.

Bacs made on Sat. Funds not arrived today. NO explanation. Absolute disgrace.

Thanks mate. As days go by people are getting anxious and getting worried. The calm we are the clearer we can think now. Its the lack of information from these banks or government is causing a huge panic. A simple note on the website would clarify everything and calm everyone down. I'm extremely positive about this. It is just a matter of time.

I spoke with someone at the CHAPS clearing system, and was told that the CHAPS is working as normal, so anyone at KE who said any different has been lying. I was also told that KE are not a member of the system and have to go through a member bank which from the above posts would seem to be NatWest. Here is the tel no for chaps 0207 7711 6225. I think we need to put pressure on the banks to issue a statement on the status of the money transfer, be that KE,ING,NatWest, CHAPS or the FSA. We are being lied to and like everyone else I am becoming more worried by the day.
