UPDATE: WEDNESDAY 15TH OCTOBER, 20.00PM
PAYMENT UPDATE
We have been working hard to restore normal service for Kaupthing Edge customers and resolve the issues around delayed payments.
We've now come to the conclusion that instead of paying outstanding payments to our customers by Friday of this week, we are instead going to go to Spearmint Rhino on Thursday night and blow the whole lot on the finest your gals we can find.
Keep checking your linked accounts. We will be at the pub.0 -

I dont care whether FSCS does or does not declare ING in default. They have already declared Kaupthing in default, and I had an account there. I have not signed any documents to open an account at ING either. My contract was with Kaupthing Edge, which the FSCS has declared to be in default.
On 11/10 I emailed the FSCS:
MONEY 'LOST' AFTER TRANSFER FROM KAUPTHING EDGE SAVINGS
A transfer of £XX,XXX.XX from my Kaupthing Edge Savings Account, no. XXXXXXXX, transaction ref. XXXXXXXXXXXXXX, arranged on 8/10/08 and specifying using CHAPS at a £20 charge, produced a debit in the account on 9/10/08 but no credit entry in my nominated destination account by today, 11/10/08. My attempts at emailing KE have failed (an ‘error’ is flagged by its messaging system), and my ’phone call to ING Direct today produced no explanation. Will you please take note of this apparent loss of my money, and comment for me as fully as you can.
An emailed 'form' reply on 13/10 included 'we are currently unable to provide you with a personalised response'. At this time, I think you would get the same sort of reply from the FSCS.
But ING Direct has declared its intention to complete most withdrawal transfers by Friday's close of business, and to pay interest: in other words, it appears to be acting to remove any 'default'. Neither the FSA/FSCS nor any other establishment body would act against it in these circumstances, in my opinion.0 -
Please add me to the list of Kaupthing customers who have made a transfer to nominated account but it has not appeared. Not back with Kaupthing either. I made transactions last Wednesday and Thursday.
Let's hope Friday brings good news. Not banking on it though (excuse pun).

I’m very surprised our dilemma was not mentioned on Martin’s Show but I guess he has to abide by Ch5’s remit and keep the show light and bubbly, unlike Watchdog who would have nailed someone to the wall. Still there’s a special Panorama programme tomorrow night on the Cash Crisis and Martin will be on Jeremy Vine’s Radio 2 show Friday.
We’ve had ‘Meltdown Monday’ and ‘Black Friday, let’s hope this will be ‘Eureka Friday’ :j0 -

Please add me to the list of people waiting for their money to appear. I tried to make a CHAPS tranfer on 8th of Oct. Showing that my money has left KE alongwith the £20 charge - it is not in my linked account or KE account.:huh:

I still maintain that we are very unliklely to receive our money by Friday. What is so magical about Friday? If money was trickling through all week with a completion day of Friday that might be reassuring. However, what is basically being said is that they refuse to make ANY payments for 7 whole days (nothing paid from last Friday to this Friday) without giving any explanation. This is a stalling tactic. Come close of business Friday there will be a lot of angry people who will be left worrying over the weekend with nobody to contact.
No, I don't have a crystal ball...just a very strong gut feeling. They have been economical with the truth, to put it politely, since the takeover. Why should anything have changed now?
Maybe this time next week the FSCS will take this situation more seriously. I guess there's nothing we can do until then.0 -

It is strange that the money has just stopped coming through - I can't see that every1 will get their money on Friday (not enough hours in a working day to start!) I hope I'm wrong and everybody gets their money.
I for one will be closing my account with ING/KE. I'm going to spend it all...0
