We could keep guessing and chew this over and over for days. My suggestion is that we see what Martin has to say in tonight's programme and wait until Friday. If nothing has happened by then:
fiiiiiiiiiiiiight :mad:
PS
I bought a lucky dip Lotto ticket for tonight. If I’m lucky I’ll buy you all a virtual drink, from Barbados. :beer:

Jimster, basically it's just a copy of the latest update on the website regarding Friday Payments. It's generic and addressed to ...Dear Customer...sent out to all regardless if you have pending transfer or not .
You are not missing anything new!0 -

FSCS will declare a firm in default if:- it has received at least one eligible claim against it, and the customer has made a financial loss;
- we are satisfied that the firm is unable, or likely to be unable, to pay claims against it. We will investigate the firm's financial position to establish this.
If you wrote a cheque, had money in your account to cover it, paid it to someone, who deposited it into their account, but your bank did not pay out the money, then your bank is in default. This takes 5 days. Similarly, in my case, I instructed Kaupthing to pay into my linked account, by CHAPS, they acknowledged the instruction, but have failed to carry it out. The rest is history. FSCS is our first port of call. We have been patient, and gone along for nearly 2 weeks. Friday will be my limit.
I dont care whether FSCS does or does not declare ING in default. They have already declared Kaupthing in default, and I had an account there. I have not signed any documents to open an account at ING either. My contract was with Kaupthing Edge, which the FSCS has declared to be in default. If FSCS chose to pass on the Kaupthing bank to some other bank, ING in this case, it does not give the new bank the right to ride roughshod over customers rights. ING will I am sure want to carry out its responsibilities, but in case it does not do so by their deadline of Friday, some of us will have no alternative except to make our plight public. ING should have the necessary resources to honour a few hundred transfers. Each one of us could fax them our transfer out instructions as acknowledged by Kaupthing.....Illegitimi non carborundum
...don't let the illegitimate ones grind you down....0
