Have just received a phone call from very nice gentleman from ING following an email I sent. GOOD NEWS!! They have just received an email confirming that all of the transaction requests should be processed on Friday 17 October. The only ones that may take a little longer than that are those who tried to make the transaction twice. Hope this helps!! They'll be putting this on their website.

hmmm ... good news, but I'll believe it when I see it!!!
  • I have just finished a bottle of claret....and am going to take a nap......I will post here later on.

Does anyone know this bank's credit rating? We are constantly reminded by the media that banks are'nt lending money to each other. Therefore I would like to know if another bank will lend this bank the money to pay us......even when LIBOR comes down?

Rating from an agency such as Moody's will give us a clue. Can someone sober, look up what the rating agencies are telling us about this bank and post it here.

Once I have had my nap, I will tell you how the 1929 bank collapse started, as told me by my father.

A sound bank will honour a request made to it by a customer to release funds, within specified time limits (5 days for a cheque, 4 days for BACS, same day for CHAPS, if requested before 12.00 noon). The banks that failed then, could not honour such requests by their customers. That is an acid test.

Something in excess of 15000 banks crumbled in the US alone, so you aint seen nothin yet.

All the banks that went down....were reassuring their customers right upto the last minute that their money was safe. The fact that a Bank has to make such a statement usually says something!

All that we have seen so far are a few failed banks here and in the US. They all have been taken over by governments. Lets hope the Dutch government is aware of our failed requests for return of our monies and acts according to its commitments. If the Dutch authorities arent yet aware of our plight, we will need to ensure they are made aware.

We must also make our FSCS officially aware, because our monies in Kaupthing Edge were guaranteed by the FSCS and the remedy that came up with, namely hand over funds to ING to pay us has not worked. This may require each one of us to write to the FSCS. That is the only way they can take notice
    ....Illegitimi non carborundum

...don't let the illegitimate ones grind you down....

Does that mean ING only process payments on a Friday then! How comes ING had been working on payments on Saturday and Monday then if nothing gets processed to Friday!
    More bulls*** I think!
    CHAPS 8th received 20th into HSBC A/C
BACS on the 17th and 20th received 22nd into HSBC A/C
    CHAPS fee refunded 29/10
I can survive any crisis - I have kids!!

Well I tried to withdraw on Tuesday night by chaps, and waited patiently until Wednesday close of business, then as money was still in account I tried to withdraw online - as previously I hadn't been able to log in and my first withdrawal was made over the phone - I suppose I am AGAIN one of the unlucky ones that will have to wait and wait - has anyone else tried to withdraw twice - please - I need some company.

BACS takes 3/4 days so it could be 3/4 days from now or 3/4 working days from the 17th!

Tuesday evening, 7 October. However, I don't think it matters which date you requested it on now, as he said all the transactions that had been requested would be made on the 17 October (possibly bar the ones I mentioned). He said they did have a hitch yesterday, and decided rather than allow a few through, they decided instead to get the system to allow all the previously requested transactions.

Excuse the cynicism, but going by their performance so far, that's probably only a ploy to keep us off their backs (BACS?) until next week.

Could be middle of next week then as BACs takes 3/4 days so if the file is put through Friday we will get the funds Wednesday next week by my reckoning

I think he meant that the funds would actually be in our accounts on Friday, not that they're sending them on Friday.
