I thought we still had money with ING/KE but apparently we don't?
The money that was in our accounts is now gone - ING and the Treasury are trying to give us 'compensation' equal to the amount of money we previously had deposited.
Am I reading the article right?
This concerns 3000 without internet accounts onlyNon illigitamus carborundum!!0 -

According to last Sundays ‘Mail on Sunday’, these are the so called havens for money right now ..
NS&I, NR, HSBC, Abbey, Lloyds TSB, Nationwide, Yorkshire BS, Coventry BS
So it’s a case of do your own research (DYOR)
No link, I just flicked through the paper0 -

Correct me (please!) if I am wrong but I thought that KSF and KE were two different entities - KSF is now under the control of the Icelandic gov and KE is now owned by ING. As ING are still trading, I assume that we are not getting compensation from anyone, but will receive "our" money in due course...0 -
What I would like to hear from ING is some sort of truth i,e, Your account has been frozen at this time until a coplete transition of accounts has taken place. We expact this transition to take approximately so many days/weeks etc ....If in fact that is the reason why we can't make withdrawals today..........If this is not the reason, I would strongly like to know whyNon illigitamus carborundum!!0

I believe I was the first to post on Friday to say I'd had some of my money (at 1.50 not 1.40). I'd received a £2k BACS that had been requested on the 6th but not the £12.5k CHAPS requested at 8am on the 8th
Like the rest of you I believed the floodgates had started to open and the rest of my money would arrive on Monday, well Monday and now half of Tue has come and gone and no sign of my money.
I'm lucky to have received the £2k as I was down to £2.72 in my current account. But I would love to know where the rest of my money is.
I hear what you're all saying about not panicking and I'm trying not to (haven't called either ING or KE once, doesn't seem much point as I can find out what script they're reading from at any given time by logging on here :rotfl: . But to all those saying 'they've written on the website that the money is safe' I think you'll find it still says that on the login page of KE!! And that's a week after they went into liquidation.
I'm on maternity leave and all the money I had to live on was in either Icesave or KE, I was transferring money on a regular basis to pay my bills (hence the £2k on the 6th) so it's hard not to panic about the possibility that I'm in for a very long wait for the rest of my money.
As others have said, a little HONEST communication is all that's required.
For example when I got the news that Icesave had gone I didn't panic as it was swiftly followed by Mr. Darling stating that I would get the money back in about 3 months. A realistic time frame with a reasonable explaination as to why it should take that long is all that's required. Surely that's not too much to ask.
Finally as another poster has mentioned, the fact that they are still allowing CHAPS and BACS transfers to be requested from the KE website without a warning that they have no idea when any money transferred will get through is inexcusable. All the backlog excuses in the world don't make that acceptable.
I am sitting tight because I have no choice but it seems to me that something odd is going on. When Lloyds TSB took over HBOS were there similar problems?0 -
