Requested withdrawal from KE by BACS on 9th October still no sign of it in my Barclays linked account. Are we to believe the payments may be returned to KE or will they eventually turn up in our linked account? Are payments covered by the Direct Debit Guarantee?
Heard yesterday on Moneybox that fixed term accounts with Icesave will not be repaid until the end of the fixed term - can this be correct?0 -

Spoke to KE this morning and they said they definitely wont be posted back into your KE account. The transfers will go through to your linked account in due course.0 -
This concerns 3000 without internet accounts only
But the article says:
"Most of the 180,000 KSF and Heritable Bank customers will automatically have their compensation transferred to Dutch bank ING savings accounts, which has bought both banks out after they collapsed in recent weeks."0 -

Genny,
At one stage quite recently, you were stating that you were about to supplement your savings in KE. I tried to persuade you that it was a very brave decision and that you might want to reconsider.
What led you to the route to panic along with the rest?
Are you my internet stalker?!?
Was I the only one recommending KE? I had no idea they would fold, neither did the thousands who are currently in the same situation. Up to the very shrouded collapse, they were offering a great interest rate, great service, and as you may notice were still at the top of Martins top accounts....
I chose to withdraw a chunk of my funds by BACS on the 7-10 after the collapse of Icesave, my decision, I still left money in KE, but I wanted to reduce my balance, just in case things got worse and money would have to be claimed from the FSCS. Sadly it was the wrong decision as now my money, along with thousands of others is now in limbo.
Cant see anywhere I have panicked....
Once it settles down and is an ING account, if it still offers the good rate of interest, it'll still be a good account.0 -
So we have over 2000 posts and over 100 pages on this topic and no one has a clue on whats happening. we are all just going around in circles,
- some say chill
- some want to panic
- some keep calling ING / KE an are being told the same thing over and over again
- etc etc
if open up a bank will all you transfer your cash into my bank LOL!!!!0 -
I transferred two sums of money on 7th from mine and my husbands KE accounts by Chaps. We are buying a house and this money is our deposit. We are due to complete before the end of the month so we need the money desperately otherwise our house sale will fall through. The other part of our deposit was with Icesave so I've had to beg First Direct to give me an even bigger mortgage as it could be months before that materialises.
I emailed KE last week to say I needed the money and received no reply and have not been able to get through on the 'phone yet. I've seen the update on the KE website regarding payments and have kept up to date with the posts on this thread but still don't feel reassured. I have now emailed KE again as my solicitor will need the deposit money soon and I haven't dared tell the seller that I've got a money problem as the sale has already fallen through twice due to the dreaded chain.
They say buying a house is one of the most stressful things you can do but believe me it makes it all so much worse when you haven't got the money you need anymore and you don't know when it will be given back.
Sorry for the rant, I'm just totally fed up..._pale_
I'm in a similar position - still waiting for my Chaps of Tuesday. I exchanged yesterday and need my money for completion.
Just been with my solicitor today and I posed a scenario to her - what if the same thing happens again, banks collapsing, but if it had the money needed to complete a sale - or even the clients money held in solicitors account. She said people are worried about this happening but the law society as yet, don't know how they would deal with it!
I hope your money comes through in plenty of time.0 -

ING have taken over the Kaupthing Edge internet accounts but not the KSF non internet accounts - the 3000 customers with KSF accounts will most probably have to claim compensationNon illigitamus carborundum!!0 -

Doesn't seem to be what Martin is suggesting in his earlier post......this whole saga is awash with rumour and counter-rumour.0
