I received a chaps payment yesterday but requested it on saturday morning. Thinking of putting it into Tesco's inernet saver at 6.50%. Not seen it mentioned much but Tesco seem to rule the world these days. If they run it as well as they do their supermarkets it should be safe there but who knows anything anymore!

I actioned a CHAPS transfer yesterday but for today (that was the only option it gave me) and today i got an email saying my transfer couldn't be completed because "the most likely reason was a lack of funds". hehe it might be the most likely but it's not the reason is it!

All my savings and ISA are in icesave right now and staying there for the foreseeable future. I'm not worried about the fact i can't get to them, i am just wrried about not getting them back at some point!!

I suspect that CHAPS or BACS from yesterday evening simply will not go through - the account the money would have come from has most likely been put on hold. But obviously the system isn't clever enough to realise this (or just wasn't designed for a run on Icesave!) - hence the fact it states that the money has been "processed". I think what's most frustrating is the lack of any info from Icesave direct - I do accept it will be a big political issue, but even still, they do say they hope to provide more information shortly - they've given none all day.
  • I did CHAPS yesterday afternoon (1:30pm) nothing in my RBS account yet. I also chose to close my Icesave account - now I can't even login.

As far as I know if a CHAPS or BACS is processed they cant stop it.
The question is have they been sent?
