Getting a council house! is it possible anymore?

Look I'm seriously getting bored of your nasty little comments now it's unreal

lets get this whole thing into perspective ONE LAST TIME

My sister said she is fed up with having no money - like most of us are nowadays she wants a council house which is a right which everyone is entitled to in this country but as there is a shortage it's unlikely to happen unless you are a druggie etc - she was having a moan like everybody does and is entitled to do - she said that she is going to exaggerate her situation to the council like everyone does when they apply an the council even expect this - people told her this wasn't a good idea so she said that she wasn't going to lie afterall - but some of you started getting nasty and vicious and got on your soap boxes so she stuck up for herself as you all completely over reacted so I also posted a comment in her defense then you accused her of making up a new profile etc - she can't win this argument anymore because you are a load of vile and bitter old farts who think they are perfect.

You are all being very abusive and now you are getting as good as you got but you don't like it when people stand up for them selves because you think you are right about everything

You are treating Grimbo as if she is a sex offender and makeing ridiculous assumptions about her so I stepped in and made assumpsions about you too

You are entitled to a council house if you are in need. The OP is not in need, so she isn't entitled to a council house. I don't get where people seem to think that having a council house is a 'right'?

Ok.....right.....errrr feel I should respond and defend against that post Phantasm.

I have tried to be practical and offer advice on how to cut some outgoing costs down or possibly improve job prospects and thus earnings by doing some extra learning on a part time and fairly easy to handle manner.

I have also expressed sympathy and empathy at the situation with regards a young child and precious little pennies going around.

I have also stated my situation past and present with a view to showing that it is not only drug addicts, those on the dole etc who are housed in social housing.

I am not bitter (well maybe at my ex hubby but that is another story!:rotfl: ) I may be older than your sister but not hugely so (I did finally check her first post to see how old she was).

I am boring, I will give you that :rotfl: But I'm not miserable...some call me crazy for my weird and warped sense of humour, if you didn't laugh you would cry sort of thing.

We have all been short of money at one time or another in our lives and your sister is actually quite lucky and doing quite well to still have money left at the end of the month after paying the bills and buying food, there are others out there who cannot even cover their bills or if they do, they cannot then afford to eat.

I don't think I have been abusive in any of my posts and to that accusation, I must defend myself most strongly...I have never been and never will be an abusive person as I know that never gets a person anywhere.

And please don't tell me to grow up! I want to grow young! :rotfl: Plus the fact at my age (less than 40 but more than 30) you have tended to stop growing upwards, you just go outwards!

Well blow me down. I have just read this and it was better than the bestest ever Soap.

For what it's worth, we were given pre children a 2 bedroom place and when they offered it (was in a 1 bed) wondered why?

Roll on a year later when we gave our tenancy up completely as the neighbours were nutters. That's why we were given a 2 bed in the first place as we didn't have children.

OP, take on board some of the suggestions for money saving and you will be better off, as you get older your income increases naturally as you take on more responsibilities. Yes it's hard right now, but it's hard for everyone. I wouldn't try to get council housing if you do not need it.

and i think you have the whole time line wrong aswell .... in the first post she asked about council houses and then threw in her moans aswell and this thread has carried on like that since ... she came asking for help whilst slagging off those that probably need it more than her and moaning at it being unfair

And as soon as she said she wasnt going to lie (only 3 days ago and this thread has been virtually dead since then dead) people started to show her respect and wishing her the best of luck .... then less than 3 hours later after saying she wasnt going to lie .... you appeared and started it all off again ... so congrats on dragging this on futher

and we arent treating like grimbo like a sex offender ... but if you think we are i wonder where she would rate on your scale? moaning about single moms and others that need housing getting it? ... no one would have a problem if she was in dire need of help ... but shes not yet shes happy to slag those off that are? seems to me she classes those people lower than sex offenders if that what you think we are

I think you will find she has been treated like someone who is prepare lie when not in need, someone that wants all the benifits of the less fortunate whilest moaning about them and someone who is pretty rude .... and through all that people have still offered help (including me)

and your sister*cough* has said she has money left at the end of the month .... she just wants more (which is understandable) ... but shes not poor, racking up debts or even struggling etc so do i feel sorry for her ... a little if honest as it would be nice if everyone was well off imo ... but there are others in way more need than her so when she is prepared to moan about them whilst wanting sympathy ... well lol what else do you expect??
