If you want to get rid of "lets say" a NTL Contract and go to PAYS
I cant see why not as you can go for another provider and configure you email for the old address but never use NTL dial up settings.
So yeah I mean im on Blueyonder but I have a Zoom.co.uk email address (account), bear in mind I dont know NTLs rules as some providers will shut a email account if they see no dial up or usage of their service.0 -
It is possible to maintain an NTL email account with a different ISP, provided your new ISP allows POP3 mail (virtually everyone except AOL). I use a mail client and can receive mail from an NTL account; however i am unable to send via the NTL account. This for me, this is not really an problem as I send email via my new ISP.2 heads are better than 1….unless they are on the same body!0

I always reccomend trying to get an internet e-mail address, it allows you to change ISPs at will and still allows worldwide access. Another benifit is that if a virus is identified they are pretty good at picking it up before it gets into your system.
There are all the usual ones like yahoo & google , or f you dont mind adverts you could try https://www.mail.com0 -
Thats what I do as well. Years ago my Tiscali account changed to pay as you go. I very rarely use that - only if I want to send an email from my main address using outlook, though I can also do that using the web based mail. I mainly use the email from my current provider for sending but let the address go when I cancel the service which I do often to take up other cheap offers.0

with some of them (eg friends on Wanadoo), you need to dial up within 120 or 180 days of the last call to stay alive - it's probably in the small print, or you could ask ...intel wrote:... as some providers will shut a email account if they see no dial up or usage of their service.0 -
I think you ought to get a GMAIL invite.
That can get all your emails via POP3, it's secure, good web interface, and plenty of Stoarage Space (2.6GB ever increasing!)
You don't need an ISP's email then and can rely on GMAIL.
You probably knew that already!! Go look on the GMAIL invite board or PM me for one.0 -
yeah you would need to dialup probly every 120 days
but all u need to do is dial to your authenticated and d/c
but i suggest you be better getting your own domain and hosting email, very cheap knowadays and doesnt matter where u acsess it or for a free one
