    yep you will

I still use email adresses (to send and recieve) from isp's i stoped using several years ago, examples being ic24 (remember the days of free surfing with ic24forfree?), Tesco etc etc. I've been on Wanadoo broadband and continue to use all my old providers email.
Why do you say the ability will be lost is NTL different?
    Don’t be a can’t, be a can.
  • An alternative is to get a domain name all for yourself. There are hundreds of sites offering this now, with free email forwarding service.

So Joe Bloggs could get joebloggs.com (or joebloggs.name or joebloggs.co.uk), and use different email addresses for different sites. His address here could be "mse@joebloggs.com", with different ones for other sites. It lets you see which sites share your address round, and who is spamming you.

Email forwarding means that all email addressed to anything@joebloggs.com is sent to his current email address. If he changes ISPs, he just changes the address it's forwarded to.

I actually use gmail as my forwarding address, as I'm considering a new ISP, but it could be anything

I think you ought to get a GMAIL invite.

That can get all your emails via POP3, it's secure, good web interface, and plenty of Stoarage Space (2.6GB ever increasing!)

You don't need an ISP's email then and can rely on GMAIL.

You probably knew that already!! Go look on the GMAIL invite board or PM me for one.

    Not forgetting a Gmail
    Dormant Account

A Google Mail account that hasn't been logged in to for six months. Even though you may still receive mail, you need to log in to keep your account active. If you don't sign in to your account within three months of it being labelled 'dormant,' Google deletes all messages in the account, closes it, and recycles the username. Other free web-based email providers delete dormant accounts in as little as 30 days.

And also Gmail wont allow exe files even if Zipped unless you rename the extension which is a pain in tha neck if the recipient doesnt understand this.
