I thought I had been able to tranfer the money out of my account on Sunday and the transaction seemed to go fine but then waited in vain for the money to arrive in my Natwest account. I waited and waited.
Anyway today I logged back into Icesave without problems and there was my money back in the Icesave account with the message
8/10/08 - Processed - Correction Item Posted 6/10/08 - and my money back in the account.
At least I know where it is and now just have to wait like everyone else. I shared some of the worry by telling my financee that the money was to pay for her wedding dress for next year.
I guess we wait till someone sends us a form or do you have to registed your details somewhere ?Table for one again, Sir ?0 -

Ermmm, what is the point? We ARE getting our money back or have you been in hibernation for the last few days?“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

I closed my account with Icesave on Monday 6th October. The site said it would take 3-4 days to reach my nominated account. 4 days have gone and it's still not there. I cannot check with Icesave as the final message (when I withdrew my funds) said that as the account was close I would no longer have access to the account details via my personal log in. Does any one out there know where my money might be?0

Call them up, they will reinstate your log in etc, so you can at least see your cash again and print off statements / balances. The money will be there.MFW #185

Your money should be back in your Icesave account by now but you will need to phone them so they can reset your details"The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts."

Have you tried to log in by re-setting your password, other people have found their accounts have been re-instated even though they were closed.
enter your ID, then click reset, you should be given a 5 letter code and emailed a 5 letter code, enter these, re-set password and hopefully you can get to view your account.

I don't normally pass on rumors, and I want to stress that this is all it is (but I soooo hope it's true!)
I heard from a friend that one of the options the FSCS are considering is to use the account data from Icesave to open new accounts with Northern Rock.
The advantages being:
1. No one has to make a claim - eligable Icesave savers automatically get accounts opened using information they already hold
2. FSCS can make a single payment to Northern Rock (not 300,000 individual cheques)
3. The "cash" from FSCS can be phased as some/many Icesave savers may decide to leave the money in Northern Rock, but obviously if you want to transfer it you can do
4. Any paperwork (relating to transfers) would then be handled by Northern Rock staff, where there is excess capacity as they aren't doing much mortgage business.
IF (and I stress again IF) true, payouts (at least on paper) could be achieved in a couple of weeks instead of months!
I really hope they do!
This is no bad thing, If it is gen I wonder if they will transfer it to a cash Isa where we can choose to leave in or move on, or put it in a fixed rate for this year, which wouldn't be a problem for me either as potentially the tax payer gets some benefit of a return on helping us out because Iceland won't.Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0 -

I've just spoken to them after spending ages waiting to get through. The lady said all closed accounts are being reinstated and they will be completed within the next 24 hours. Its not something she said will be done over the phone.
So they're making their way through it and they confirmed they have my funds. Guess we'll just have to wait.0
