Afternoon all - ooh stiff shoulders - hardly surprising BUT am no where near as achy as I thought I would be so am happy with that especially as I didn't take any ibuprofen to ward off the impending stiffness...

Tia hope DS2 is feeling much better now.
    G & B cute frock
Sarah gorgeous sparkler - pleased you overcame your reluctance to share it...
Nicki if it was condensation it would only be affecting the walls - wood is not cold and water does not condense onto wooden furniture ... that looks like out-and-out damp to me.
Am so late because football this week was this morning - but a resounding defeat for DSs team

    see you later

    Afternoon everyone,

I have finally got my house back:D After an evening of 5 x 13 + 14 year old boys having a sleepover I is knackered and so is DH.

Have to say though, it was a good night. All the boys were well behaved and polite with no major dramas. DH supervised to perfection. And, I went to bed at 10.30 and slept like the dead until 8.10 am this morning. Got up and discovered all the boys had gone to do the paper rounds with DS and his mate:D So temporary peace and quiet. Then it became not so quiet so I took the dog for a trek for an hour.:D And they all vacated finally about 20 mins ago:D ** big,big sigh**

I've skimmed through the thread and really can't remember much of it TBH. My brain is confuzzled this morning.

Greenbee - I used bits of Flake on the hedgepig for the spikes. It was brilliant, so thanks for that.

As for the cleaning products I use -

White Vinegar - diluted 50/50 with water for - wiping down work surfaces, cleaning windows, mirrors, cleaning the bath, sink and toilet and wiping down the bathroom tiles. Descaling the kettle. Sprayed into a warm oven, left for 20 mins and then wiped. All grease will come away and leaves the oven sparkly. I do it everyday and I never have to clean my oven, or hob for that matter.

Used neat for - descaling the shower head and soaked into kitchen towel to wrap around any taps that might have a limescale build up.

Stardrops - diluted to wipe down any paintwork, kitchen cupboard door fronts/backs and insides, kitchen tiles. It'll take out any small stains on carpets as well.

Soda crystals - sprinkled into the bath with enough hot water to cover the oven shelves. Leave to soak for 30 mins and the grease will slide off. ;)
Mixed with washing powder for soaking anything white. Works wonders.;)
And, for running through the washing machine to clear the pipes etc. Flower I think it is, uses a whole 1 kg bag for this. And assures me that it doesn't over bubble. But I aint brave enough to try that:eek:
However, I will add, that I shall never use them again in the DW to clean it through as I did last week. It left a residue everywhere and made me drawers squeak:rolleyes:

Bleach - neat around the rims and down the toilets. Down plug holes and to shine my sink:D

The only other stuff I buy is toilet cleaner cos it keeps the limescale at bay. Harpic Power Plus if it gets really bad. Which now it doesn't cos I is a flylady.:D Great for really bad limescale though.;) And I have a bottle of shops own anti bac spray just as a stand buy.

That is all I have in my cleaning arsenal now. All learnt from the 'Old Style Board' and it has saved me a fortune.;)

  • Here's my cleaning products list:

    Chemical/Big Brand Products

Dettol Mould and Mildew Remover (Brilliant particularly on stained grout)
Mr Muscle Kitchen Spray (for removing curry stains on anything! Fantastic, it's the only thing I know that gets out Tumeric stains)
    Bleach (for the loo)
Hob Brite (for when stardrops isn't enough)
Dettol Disinfectant Spray (love this for cat pee accidents. )

    Other Products

Stardrops (diluted in a spray bottle for S&Sing everything, and for windows, woodwork, tiles, sinks, floors, even in the screen wash in the car)
Soda Crystals (add to washing powder)
Washing Powder (for boiling burnt saucepans, and cleaning diamonds:o )

Glade Vanilla or Clean Linen Air Freshener.... not strictly cleaning product, but great for when the OH has been 'perfuming' the atmosphere!!!
