Kaupthing Edge - Unable to Withdraw!!!

I have also just tired (£10 just to see). Similar problem.
Which is hte same probelm I had last weekend (or lsat weekend but one) and a quick phone call confirmed that they had parts of their systems down for upgrade, and withdrawls couldn't be actioned. They did the withdrawl over the phone, and miraculously the money did appear in my intended account and didn't disppear into an Icelandic blackhole; same as it has ever since I got the account really.0 -
I am sooooooo disappointed that all my fellow MSE subscribers have seen me as a scaremonger. I am the last person to start rumours or panic people.
All I wanted to do was to withdraw a few pounds which would have allowed me to buy a spade that I intended to use to shore up ING as I heard they are going down the pan.0 -
I have just tried to withdraw some money from my Kaupthing Edge account but have been unable to.
All I get is a dialog box stating "Confirm Transaction" with the "OK" & "Cancel" butons. However, when you select "OK" the dialog box disappears and re-displays the withdrawal screen. I retried with various amounts of money (including with & without the decimal point) but to no avail.
Is anyone else have the same problem?0 -

That happens when you don't leave £100 in there - that is the minimum at which the savings account will operate. Try withdrawing a figure leaving £1000 -

Perhaps taking the long line of !!!!! out of the title, and modifying title to something like: Problem with Withdrawl page on KE - Any Ideas?" instead may have got you a slightly different response....0 -

Thanks for the suggestion Geoffo.
At the risk of being named a serial scaremonger by our friendly MSE subscribers I will respond...
My withdrawal would have meant that I would have had a balance of more than £100. Others who have responded to my problem in this thread have suggested that it maybe something to do with an upgrade that Kaupthing are doing without letting their Customers know.
If this is true, it is obvious to me that the uncertainty about why you can’t access your cash brought about by Kaupthing’s actions in this time of turmoil isn’t seen as a potential issue for them.0 -

I've just withdrawn some funds from my Kaupthing account in the last half hour without any problems.0 -
same here, took out some spare cash, left the majority in. Good savings rate, no panic here.0

We took some out earlier today no probs.
..and before anyone asks, the withdrawl wasnt for any other reason than we're starting our new extension in the next week or so, and need the cash to pay the builder. Would have been happy to leave it there otherwise. My Excel Mortgage Calculator Spreadsheet: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=11571730
