Kaupthing Edge - Unable to Withdraw!!!
Comments

I have just done a test withdrawal of £1, and can confirm that its not showing as a future withdrawal, but I think they tend to do maintainance at weekends, as do most Banks, so don't panic Mr Mannering;)0

trevs707, I had exactly the same problem recently.
The problem was consistent, but turned out to be technical, not a problem with the bank and/or account itself.
I upgraded Microsoft Internet Explorer recently from version 7 to the version 8 beta, and that appears to be the problem, possibly something to do with the way it runs java scripts.
If I use an alternate browser (tend to use the new Google Chrome now), I can still get through the whole sequence and withdraw money.
Worth checking!
(PS IE8 also has problems when managing pre-arranged payments on the Nationwide site.)0 -
Is Kaupthing in trouble?0

I took some money out earlier today from the easy access account. No problems whatsoever. I also hold a one year fixed rate bond which will have to run its course.0

I love all the replies with "Ive taken my money out but I do still have savings with them", as if to justify the withdrawal as not being over panic.
What you do with your money, whether it be withdraw because your worried about all the talk, or leave in because you love the rate, is your decision, no need to justify it, some will be concerned by latest developments, some won't, it's your decision0 -
sounds like it's just people like me, with fixed term savings that are leaving them in Icelandic banks.0

I too can confirm that for the first time I can not make a withdrawl from Kaupthing Edge.
Yes I have tried the decimal point and varied the amount, and yes I would have left well over a £100.00 in the account. I dont think it scarmongering to be concerned, about large amounts of money. Remember until Tuesday only £35,000, is guaranteed if the bank goes down, personaly I would not feel confortable to loss the other £1000's I have invested. £35,000 would be cold comfort. I agree that if the bank has some IT problems it should post a message to advise its customers of such. These are worring times, and after all we are trying to follow the advice of Marin Lewis after all, in trying to safeguard our hard earned money. Scaremongering.. no.. common sence YES.
Still concerned
Stuart:rolleyes:0
